SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED AT 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past (24) hours, rain or thundershower have been isolated in Kayah State, scattered in Naypyitaw, Yangon Region and Shan (North and East) State, fairly widespread in Mandalay Region and Southern Shan State and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with regionally heavy falls in Magway Region, isolated heavy falls in Rakhine, Kayin and Mon States. The noteworthy amounts of rainfall recorded were Sittwe (5.55)inches, Thaton (3.78)inches, Htilin (3.40)inches, Hakha (2.96)inches, Kyaukhtu (2.72)inches, Kyeikkhame (2.68)inches, Saw (2.51)inches, Belin (2.24)inches, Kyeikmayaw (1.81)inches, Hpa-an (1.77)inches, Dawei (1.62)inches and Manaung (1.57)inches.

BAY INFERENCE: According to the observations at (13:30)hrs M.S.T today, the low pressure area over North Bay of Bengal still persists. Monsoon is strong to vigorous over the Andaman Sea and Bay of Bengal.

FORECAST VALID UNTIL EVENING OF THE 3rd August, 2016: Rain or thundershowers will be scattered in Naypyitaw and Mandalay Region, fairly widespread in Sagaing and Magway Regions, Shan, Chin and Kayah States and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with likelihood of regionally heavy falls in Rakhine State, isolated heavy falls in Yangon, Ayeyarwady and Taninthayi Regions, Kayin and Mon States. Degree of certainty is (100%).

STATE OF THE SEA: Occasional squalls with rough sea will be experienced off and along Myanmar Coasts. Surface wind speed in squalls may reach (40-45) m.p.h.

OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Continuation of increase of rain in Taninthayi Region, Rakhine, Kayin and Mon States.
