SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED AT 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During

the past (24) hours, rain or thundershower have been scattered in Kachin

and Kayah States and widespread in the remaining Regions and States

with regionally heavy falls in Mandalay and Magway Regions, Chin and

Rakhine States, isolated heavy falls in Naypyitaw, Lower Sagaing Region,

Mon State. The noteworthy amounts of rainfall recorded were Thandwe

(4.41)inches, Hakha and Sittwe (3.54)inches each, Saw (3.52)inches,

Belin (3.31)inches, Mindat (3.15)inches, Hlaingbwe (2.99)inches,

Ngathaichaung (2.64)inches, Kyaukpyu (2.52)inches, Kyaukhtu (2.43)

inches, Myintkyina and Hpa-an (2.29)inches each, Pauk and Hainggyikyun

(2.17)inches each, Khayan (2.09)inches, Kangyangon, Hinthada,

Myaungmya and Thaton (2.05)inches each, Htilin (1.98)inches,

Nyaung Oo (1.89)inches, Kalay (1.73)inches, Hkamti (1.65)inches,

Monywa (1.58)inches, Kyaukbataung, Labutta and Chauingsone (1.53)

inches each, Naypyitaw (Dekkhina Thiri) (1.50)inches.

BAY INFERENCE: According to the observations at (13:30)hrs M.S.T today,

the low pressure area over North Bay of Bengal still persists. Monsoon is

strong over the Andaman Sea and South Bay and vigorous elsewhere over

the Bay of Bengal.

FORECAST VALID UNTIL EVENING OF THE 2nd August, 2016: Rain or

thundershowers will be fairly widespread in Kachin, Shan and Kayah States

and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with regionally heavy

falls in Ayeyarwady Region and Rakhine State, isolated heavy falls in Bago,

Yangon, Mandalay, Magway and Taninthayi Regions, Chin, Kayin and Mon

State. Degree of certainty is (100%).

STATE OF THE SEA: Occasional squalls with rough sea will be experienced

off and along Myanmar Coasts. Surface wind speed in squalls may reach

(40-45) m.p.h.

OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Continuation of increase of

rain in Coastal areas.
