SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED AT 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past (24) hours, rain or thundershowers have been widespread in Mandalay, Bago, Yangon, Ayeyarwady and Taninthayi Regions, Kachin, Shan and Kayah States and fairly widespread in the remaining Regions and States with regionally heavy falls in Mandalay Region and Rakhine State and isolated heavy falls in Magway Region and Kachin State. The observed highest Ultra Violet indexes were Naypyitaw (10.9), Yangon (7.2) and Mandalay (7.1). The noteworthy amounts of rainfall recorded were Hlaingdet (6.49)inches, Taungkok (6.34)inches, Kyaukbataung (6.27)inches, Wundwin (4.01)inches, Bhamo (3.93)inches, Chauk (3.54)inches, Natogyi (3.34)inches, Ann (3.15)inches, Meikhtila (2.95)inches, Pinlaung (2.87)inches, Namsam (2.83) inches, Myitthar (2.50)inches, Patheingyi (2.45)inches, Taunggyi and Tharrawady (2.43)inches each, Myitkyina (2.32)inches, Okkapho (2.25)inches, Kengtung (2.13)inches, Thazi (2.06)inches, Mahlaing (2.05) inches, Kyaukmae and Ngathaichaung (2.00)inches each.
BAY INFERENCE: Monsoon is moderate over the Andaman Sea and Southeast Bay and weather is partly cloudy to cloudy elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal.
FORECAST VALID UNTIL EVENING OF THE 2nd June, 2016: Rain or thundershowers will be fairly widespread in Naypyitaw, Lower Sagaing, Mandalay and Magway Regions and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with isolated heavy falls in Mandalay, Yangon and Ayeyarwady Regions, Rakhine and Mon States.
