25-11-2024: According to the observations at (05:30) hrs M.S.T today, the well marked low pressure area over the Southeast Bay of Bengal and adjoining East Equatorial Indian Ocean has moved West-Northwestwards and now lies over South Bay of Bengal.  It is likely continue to move West-Northwestwards and may further intensify into a depression during next 12 hours. Thereafter, it is likely to move Northwestwards and may reach to Tamil Nadu (India)-Sri Lanka coasts during next 2 days. Weather is cloudy over the South Andaman Sea and South Bay of Bengal and partly cloudy over the North Andaman Sea and elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal.

Bay of Bengal Condition

          Southwest monsoon is likely to set in Southern Myanmar Areas during (18 to 23) days of May. During this period monsoon will be moderate. A low pressure area may form over the Andaman Sea and South Bay of Bengal. Weather will be partly cloudy to cloudy elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal.

Rain Conditions and Rainy Days

Rain will be expected above normal in Upper Sagaing and Taninthayi Regions, Kachin, Kayah, Kayin and Mon States, below normal in Lower Sagaing, Mandalay, Magway, Yangon and Ayeyarwady Regions, Southern Shan and Rakhine States and about normal in Bago, Eastern and Northern Shan and Chin States.

Rainy days will be expected 6 to 8 days in Upper Sagaing and Taninthayi Regions, Kachin, Rakhine, Kayah, Kayin and Mon States and about 3 to 5 days  in Lower Sagaing, Mandalay, Magway, Bago, Yangon and Ayeyarwady Regions, Shan and Chin States.

Day Temperature

Day temperature will be (1.5 °C) above normal temperature of May in Lower Sagaing, Mandalay, Magway, Bago and Yangon Regions and about normal temperature of May in Upper Sagaing, Ayeyarwady and Taninthayi Regions, Kachin, Shan, Chin, Rakhine, Kayah, Kayin and Mon States.
