27-11-2024: According to the observations at (17:30) hrs M.S.T today, the Depression over Southwest Bay of Bengal has moved North-Northwestwards. It is centered at about 730 Nautical miles West-Southwest of CoCo Island (Myanmar), 270 Nautical miles South-Southeast of Chennai (India). The centre pressure of Deep Depression is 1001 hPa and maximum wind speed near the center is 35 miles per hour.Weather is partly cloudy over the North Bay of Bengal and cloudy over the Andaman Sea and elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal.

SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED AT 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past (24) hours, rain or thundershowers have been widespread in Yangon, Ayeyarwady and Taninthayi Regions, Eastern Shan State,  fairly widespread in (Northern and Southern) Shan, Kayin and Mon States, scattered in Kachin State, isolated in Upper Sagaing, Mandalay and Bago Regions, Rakhine State and weather is partly cloudy in the remaining Regions and States. Day temperatures were about May average temperature in whole country. The significant day temperatures were (40°C) in Monywa, (39°C) each in Myingyan and Naung Oo. The observed highest Ultra Violet indexes were Naypyitaw (8.2), Yangon (3.2) and Mandalay (10.1). The noteworthy amounts of rainfall recorded were Launglone (2.28)inches, Myaungmya (2.24)inches, Yay (1.77)inches, Phyarpon (1.69)inches, Pathein (1.61)inches, Yangon(Mingaladon) (1.58)inches, Nyauntone (1.38)inches and Dawei (1.27)inches.

BAY INFERENCE: Monsoon is moderate to strong over the Andaman sea and Southeast Bay of Bengal and partly cloudy elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal.

FORECAST VALID UNTIL EVENING OF THE 28th May, 2016: Rain or thundershowers will be widespread in Yangon, Ayeyarwady and Taninthayi Regions fairly widespread in Upper Sagaing and Bago Regions, Kachin, Chin, Kayin and Mon States, scattered in Lower Sagaing and Mandalay Regions, Shan State and isolated in the remaining Regions and States. Degree of certainty is (100%).

STATE OF THE SEA:  Squalls with moderate to rough sea are likely at time Deltaic, Gulf of Mottama, off  and along Mon - Taninthayi Coasts. Surface wind speed in squalls may reach (35) m.p.h. Sea will be moderate elsewhere in Myanmar waters.

OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Likelihood of thundery activities in Central Myanmar areas.
