Southwest monsoon is likely to set in Central Myanmar Areas during (24-27) of May and the whole country during (28 May – 4 June). A low pressure area may form over the Andaman Sea and Bay of Bengal and it may further intensify into the depression. During this period, monsoon will be strong. Weather will be partly cloudy to cloudy over the Andaman Sea and Bay of Bengal.
Rain Condition and Rainy Day
Rain or thundershowers will be likely above normal in Naypyitaw, Mandalay, Magway, Bago, Yangon, Ayeyarwady, Taninthayi Regions and Kachin, Shan, Rakhine, Kayah, Kayin, Mon States and about normal in Sagaing, Chin States.
Rainy days are expected about (7) to (9) days in Upper Sagaing, Magway, Bago, Yangon, Ayeyarwady, Taninthayi Regions and Kachin, Northern Shan, Rakhine, Kayin, Mon States and (4) to (6) days in Naypyitaw, Lower Sagaing, Mandalay Regions and Southern and Eastern Shan, Chin, Kayah States.

Day temperature will be (1.5°C) below normal of May average temperatures in Naypyitaw, Mandalay, Bago Regions and Kachin, Northern Shan States and about normal in Sagaing, Magway, Yangon, Ayeyarwady, Taninthayi Regions and Southern and Eastern Shan, Chin, Rakhine, Kayah, Kayin, Mon States.
