25-11-2024: According to the observations at (05:30) hrs M.S.T today, the well marked low pressure area over the Southeast Bay of Bengal and adjoining East Equatorial Indian Ocean has moved West-Northwestwards and now lies over South Bay of Bengal.  It is likely continue to move West-Northwestwards and may further intensify into a depression during next 12 hours. Thereafter, it is likely to move Northwestwards and may reach to Tamil Nadu (India)-Sri Lanka coasts during next 2 days. Weather is cloudy over the South Andaman Sea and South Bay of Bengal and partly cloudy over the North Andaman Sea and elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal.

Bay of Bengal Condition

Southwest monsoon is likely to set in Southern Myanmar areas during (21-22) of May, Deltaic Areas during (25–27) of May and Central Myanmar Areas during (28-31) of May. A low pressure area may form over the Andaman Sea and Bay of Bengal and it may further intensify into a Cyclonic Storm. During this period, monsoon will be strong. Weather will be partly cloudy to cloudy over the Andaman Sea and Bay of Bengal.

Rain Conditions and Rainy Days

Rain or thundershowers will be likely above normal in Magway, Bago, Yangon, Ayeyarwady, Taninthayi Regions and Chin, Rakhine States and about normal in Naypyitaw, Sagaing, Mandalay Regions and Kachin, Shan, Kayah, Kayin, Mon States.

Rainy days are expected about (7) to (9) days in Bago, Yangon, Ayeyarwady, Taninthayi Regions and Kachin, Chin, Rakhine, Kayin, Mon States and (4) to (6) days in Naypyitaw, Sagaing, Mandalay, Magway Regions and Shan, Kayah States.

Day Temperature

Day temperature will be (1.5°C) above normal of May average temperature in Sagaing, Mandalay Regions, Kachin State and about normal of May average temperatures in Naypyitaw, Magway, Bago, Yangon, Ayeyarwady, Taninthayi Regions and Shan, Chin, Rakhine, Kayah, Kayin, Mon states.
