SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED AT 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past (24)hours, weather has been partly cloudy in Kayah State, rain or thundershowers have been isolated in Magway Region and Northern Shan State, scattered in Naypyitaw, Sagaing, Mandalay and Bago Regions, Southern Shan and Kayin States, fairly widespread in Kachin, Eastern Shan, Chin and Rakhine States and  widespread in the remaining Regions and States with isolated heavy falls in Taninthayi Region and Kachin State. The noteworthy amounts of rainfall recorded were Kawthong (6.30)inches, Putao (3.11) inches, Phyarpon (2.80) inches, Minesat (2.40)inches, Myaungmya (2.13)inches, Machanbaw (1.93) inches, Coco-Island (1.85)inches, Kyeikmayaw (1.80)inches, Yangon(Kaba-aye) and Chaungsone (1.38) inches each.

BAY INFERENCE:  Monsoon is strong over the Andaman sea and South Bay and moderate elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal.

FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 8th September, 2016: Rain or thundershowers will be isolated in Lower Sagaing and Magway Regions, Kayah State, scattered in Naypyitaw, Upper Sagaing and Mandalay Regions, Northern Shan State, fairly widespread in Kachin, (Easthern and Southern) Shan, Chin and Rakhine States and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with likelihood of isolated heavy falls Taninthayi Region. Degree of certainty is (100%).

STATE OF THE SEA: Squalls with moderate to rough seas are likely at time off and along Myanmar Coasts. Surface wind speed in squalls may reach (35) m.p.h.

OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Moderate monsoon.
