SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED AT 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past (24) hours, rain or thundershowers have been isolated in Sagaing Region, Eastern Shan and Mon States, scattered in Mandalay, Magway and Taninthayi Regions, Kachin, Kayah and Kayin States, fairly widespread in Yangon and Ayeyarwady Regions, Shan (North and South) and Chin States and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with isolated heavy falls in Naypyitaw. The noteworthy amounts of rainfall recorded were Naypyitaw Airport (Ela) (2.17)inches, Ann (1.70)inches, Ngathaichaung (1.26)inches, Hinthada (1.06)inches, Kyaukpyu (1.02)inches, Laiway (0.98)inch, Myauk U (0.94)inch and Phyu (0.91) inch.
BAY INFERENCE: Monsoon is weak over the Andaman Sea and Bay of Bengal.
FORECAST VALID UNTIL EVENING OF THE 19th July, 2016: Rain or thundershowers will be widespread in Kachin State, fairly widespread in Upper Sagaing Region and Chin State, isolated in Lower Sagaing Region and scattered in the remaining Regions and States. Degree of certainty is (100%).
STATE OF THE SEA: Sea will be slight to moderate in Myanmar waters.
OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Decrease of rain in Bago, Yangon, Ayeyarwady and Taninthayi Regions, Rakhine, Kayin and Mon States.
