SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED AT 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past (24) hours, rain or thundershowers have been isolated in Lower Sagaing and Magway Regions, scattered in Mandalay Region, Northern Shan, Mon and Kayah States, fairly widespread in Taninthayi Region and Southern Shan State and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with regionally heavy falls in Rakhine State and isolated heavy falls in Yangon Region. The noteworthy amounts of rainfall recorded were Kyaukpyu (5.31)inches, (Northern Dagon) Yangon (3.54)inches, Manaung (3.46)inches, Maungdaw and Kyauktaw (3.15)inches each, Nyaunglaybin (2.95)inches, Phyu (2.83) inches, Hinthada (2.64)inches, Paletwa and Homalin (2.56)inches each, (Central) Yangon (2.44)inches.
BAY INFERENCE: Monsoon is moderate over the Andaman Sea and South Bay and strong elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal.
FORECAST VALID UNTIL EVENING OF THE 3rd July, 2016: Rain or thundershowers will be scattered in Lower Sagaing, Mandalay and Magway Regions, Kayah State, fairly widespread in Naypyitaw, Taninthayi Region, Southern Shan, Kayin and Mon States and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with likelihood of regionally heavy falls in Rakhine State, isolated heavy falls in Upper Sagaing Region and Kachin State. Degree of certainty is (100%).
STATE OF THE SEA: Occasional squalls with rough seas will be experienced Deltaic, off and along Rakhine Coasts. Surface wind speed in squalls may reach (40) m.p.h. Seas will be moderate elsewhere in Myanmar waters.
OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Continuation of increase of rain in Upper Sagaing Region, Kachin and Rakhine States.
