SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED AT 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past (24) hours, weather has been partly cloudy in Lower Sagaing Region, rain or thundershowers have been scattered in Naypyitaw, Mandalay and Magway Regions, (Northern and Eastern) Shan State, fairly widespread in Upper Sagaing and Yangon Regions, Kachin and Southern Shan States and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with regionally heavy falls in Mon State and isolated heavy falls in Upper Sagaing Region, Chin and Rakhine States. The noteworthy amounts of rainfall recorded were Chaungsone (5.94)inches, Hkamti (5.39)inches, Thandwe and Kyeikkhame (3.51)inches each, Hakha (3.19)inches, Mawlamyine (2.95)inches, Nyaunglaybin (2.56)inches, Taungkok and Dawei (2.48) inches each, Mudon (2.44)inches, Launglone (2.24)inches, Kyeikmayaw (2.08)inches, Shwegyin (2.04) inches, Homalin (1.69)inches, Thandaunggyi (1.68)inches, Ann and Madauk (1.54)inches each.

BAY INFERENCE: Monsoon is strong over the Andaman Sea and South Bay and moderate to strong elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal.

FORECAST VALID UNTIL EVENING OF THE 2nd July, 2016: Rain or thundershowers will be scattered in Naypyitaw, Lower Sagaing, Mandalay and Magway Regions, fairly widespread in Shan and Kayah States and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with likelihood of isolated heavy falls in Upper Sagaing Region, Kachin and Rakhine States. Degree of certainty is (100%).

STATE OF THE SEA: Occasional squalls with rough seas will be experienced Deltaic, off and along Rakhine Coasts. Surface wind speed in squalls may reach (40) m.p.h. Seas will be moderate to rough elsewhere in Myanmar waters.

OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Increase of rain in Upper Sagaing Region, Kachin, Chin and Rakhine States.

FORECAST FOR NAYPYITAW AND NEIGHBOURING AREA FOR 2nd July, 2016: Isolated rain or thundershowers. Degree of certainty is (100%).

FORECAST FOR YANGON AND NEIGHBOURING AREA FOR 2nd July, 2016: One or two rain or thundershowers with sunny period. Degree of certainty is (100%).

FORECAST FOR MANDALAY AND NEIGHBOURING AREA FOR 2nd July, 2016: Isolated rain or thundershowers. Degree of certainty is (80%).

WEATHER OUTLOOK FOR WEEKEND: Rain or thundershowers will be widespread in Yangon Region and scattered in Mandalay Region.
