27-11-2024: According to the observations at (17:30) hrs M.S.T today, the Depression over Southwest Bay of Bengal has moved North-Northwestwards. It is centered at about 730 Nautical miles West-Southwest of CoCo Island (Myanmar), 270 Nautical miles South-Southeast of Chennai (India). The centre pressure of Deep Depression is 1001 hPa and maximum wind speed near the center is 35 miles per hour.Weather is partly cloudy over the North Bay of Bengal and cloudy over the Andaman Sea and elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal.

BAY INFERENCE: Monsoon is strong over the Andaman Sea and Bay of Bengal.

FORECAST VALID UNTIL EVENING OF THE 1st July, 2016: Rain or thundershowers will be isolated in Lower Sagaing, Mandalay and Magway Regions, scattered in Naypyitaw, Shan, Chin and Kayah States, fairly widespread in Upper Sagaing, Bago and Yangon Regions and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with likelihood of isolated heavy falls in Upper Sagaing and Taninthayi Regions, Kachin, Rakhine and Mon States. Degree of certainty is (100%).

STATE OF THE SEA: Squalls with moderate to rough seas are likely at times off and along Myanmar Coasts. Surface wind speed in squalls may reach (35 - 40) m.p.h.

OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Likelihood of increase of rain in Upper Sagaing Region, Kachin and Rakhine States.
