SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED AT 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past (24) hours, rain or thundershowers have been fairly widespread in Yangon and Taninthayi Regions, Kayin State and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with regionally heavy falls in Mandalay, Magway and Bago Regions, Shan, Rakhine, Kayin and Mon States and isolated heavy falls in Lower Sagaing and Ayeyarwady Regions. The noteworthy amounts of rainfall recorded were Kyaukpyu (14.68)inches, Maungdaw (11.89)inches, Sittwe (11.18)inches, Taungkok (10.87)inches, Ann (9.49)inches, Yay (9.21)inches, Nyaunglaybin (7.80)inches, Shwegyin (7.25)inches, Zaung Tu (6.93)inches, Kyobibkauk (6.49)inches, Pyay (5.90)inches, Thandwe (5.86)inches, Tharrawady and Madauk (5.63)inches each, Hpa-an (4.61)inches, Thayat (4.45)inches, Kanbalu (4.05)inches and Ta Gaung (4.02)inches.
BAY INFERENCE: Monsoon is strong to vigorous over the Andaman Sea and Bay of Bengal.
FORECAST VALID UNTIL EVENING OF THE 12th June, 2016: Rain will be fairly widespread in Lower Sagaing, Mandalay and Magway Regions and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with regionally heavy falls in Bago and Ayeyarwady Regions, Rakhine and Mon States and isolated heavy falls in Mandalay, Magway and Yangon Regions, Kayin State.
