SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED AT 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past (24) hours, rain or thundershowers have been isolated in Lower Sagaing, Mandalay and Magway Regions, Chin State, scattered in Upper Sagaing Region and Shan State, fairly widespread in Bago and Ayeyarwady Regions, Kachin and Rakhine States and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with regionally heavy falls in Mon State and isolated heavy falls in Mandalay and Ayeyarwady Regions and Kayin State. The noteworthy amounts of rainfall recorded were Mawlamyine (8.50)inches, Paung (6.22)inches, Putao (4.13)inches, Hainggyigyun (3.82)inches, Kyeikmayaw (3.46)inches, Mudon (2.87) inches, Chaungsone (2.83)inches, Kawkayeit (2.56)inches and Singu (Agro) (2.30)inches.

BAY INFERENCE: According to the observation at (13:30) hrs MST today, a low pressure area has formed over West Central Bay and adjoining Northwest Bay of Bengal. Monsoon is strong in the Andaman Sea and Bay of Bengal.

FORECAST VALID UNTIL EVENING OF THE 27th August, 2015: Rain or thundershowers will be isolated in Lower Sagaing, Mandalay and Magway Regions, scattered in Upper Sagaing Region, Shan and Chin States, fairly widespread in Kachin and Kayah States and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with isolated heavy fall in Ayeyarwady Region, Rakhine and Mon States. Degree of certainty is (100%).

STATE OF THE SEA: Squalls with moderate to rough sea are likely at times off and along Myanmar Coasts. Surface wind speed in squalls may reach (35) m.p.h.

OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Continuation of increase of rain in Mon State.
