SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED AT 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past (24) hours, rain or thundershowers have been widespread in Taninthayi Region and Kachin State, fairly widespread in Yangon Region, Kayin and Mon States, scattered in Upper Sagaing Region, isolated in Bago and Ayeyarwady Regions, Shan and Kayah States with isolated heavy falls in Bago Region and Kayin State and weather has been partly cloudy in the remaining Regions and States. Day temperatures were (3°C) to (4°C) above May average temperatures in Northern Shan and Chin States, (3°C) below May average temperatures in Taninthayi Region and about May average temperatures in the remaining Regions and States. The significant day temperatures were (41°C) each in Nyaung Oo and Chauk.. The noteworthy amounts of rainfall recorded were Bago (5.04) inches, Kyainseikkyi (3.74) inches, Katha (2.32) inches, Hlaing Bwe (2.13) inches, Kawthong (1.69) inches and Namsam (1.54) inches.
BAY INFERENCE: Monsoon is moderate to strong in the Andaman Sea, South Bay and East Central Bay and weather is partly cloudy elsewhere in the Bay of Bengal.
FORECAST VALID UNTIL EVENING OF THE 27th May, 2015: Rain or thundershowers will be widespread in Taninthayi Region, Kachin and Mon State, fairly widespread in Bago and Yangon Regions, Kayin State, scattered in Upper Sagaing and Ayeyarwady Regions and isolated in the remaining Regions and States. Degree of certainty is (80%).
STATE OF THE SEA: Squalls with moderate to rough sea are likely at times off and along Myanmar Coasts. Surface wind speed in squalls may reach (35) m.p.h.
OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Continuation of increase of rain in the Southern Myanmar areas.
