SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED AT 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past (24) hours, weather has been partly cloudy in Lower Sagaing Region. Rain or thundershowers have been isolated in Magway Region and Kayah State, scattered in Mandalay Region and (Northern and Southern)Shan, Chin States, fairly widespread in Naypyitaw, Upper Sagaing, Yangon, Ayeyarwady Regions and Eastern Shan State and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with regionally heavyfalls in Kachin State and isolated heavyfalls in Upper Sagaing Region. The noteworthy amounts of rainfall recorded were (4.68) inches in Hkamti, (3.50) inches in Putao, (3.07) inches in Machanbaw, (2.36) inches in Dawei, (2.25) inches in Myitkyina, (2.02) inches in Buthidaung, (1.93) inches in Ann, (1.77) inches in Taungkok, (1.65) inches in Rathedaung and (1.61) inches in Kyeikkhame.

BAY INFERENCE: Monsoon is moderate to strong over the Andaman Sea and South Bay and moderate elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal.

FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 13th August, 2023: Rain or thundershowers will be scattered in Lower Sagaing, Magway Regions and Kayah State, fairly widespread in Naypyitaw, Mandalay Region and Southern Shan State and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with likelihood of isolated heavyfalls in Upper Sagaing Region and Kachin, Rakhine States. Degree of certainty is (100%).

STATE OF THE SEA: Squalls with moderate to rough seas are likely at times in Gulf of Mottama, off and along Mon-Taninthayi Coasts. Surface wind speed in squalls may reach (30-35) mph. Sea will be moderate elsewhere in Myanmar waters. Wave height will be about (7-9) feet in Gulf of Mottama, off and along Mon-Taninthayi Coasts and about (6-8) feet in Deltaic, off and along Rakhine Coast.

OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Moderate to strong monsoon over the Andaman Sea and South Bay of Bengal.
