SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED FROM YESTERDAY MORNING 09:30 hrs M.S.T TO TODAY MORNING 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past (24) hours, rain have been widespread in Taninthayi Region and isolated in Yangon Region and Kayin, Mon States with isolated heavyfalls in Taninthayi Region. Weather has been generally fair in Lower Sagaing Region and Chin, Rakhine States and partly cloudy in the remaining Regions and States. Night temperatures were 3°C to 4°C below December average temperatures in Chin, Rakhine States, 2°C below December average temperature in Kachin State and 2°C above December average temperatures in Naypyitaw, Yangon Region and (Northern and Southern)Shan State, 3°C to 4°C above December average temperatures in Ayeyarwady Region and Eastern Shan, Kayah, Kayin, Mon States and about December average temperatures in the remaining Regions and States. The significant night temperatures were -1.2°C in Hakha, 4.3°C in Tiddim, 6.4°C in Putao, 6.7°C in Pyinoolwin, 7.3°C in Namsan(Southern Shan), 8.4°C in Myitkyina, 8.9°C in Loilin, 9.6°C in Machanbaw, 10.0°C in Heho and 10.2°C in Pinlaung. The noteworthy amount of rainfalls record were 6.14 inches in Kawthaung, 0.55 inch in Coco Island and 0.08 inch in Kyeikkhame.
BAY INFERENCE: Weather is cloudy over the Andaman Sea, South Bay and Eastcentral Bay of Bengal, a few cloud to partly cloudy over the Westcentral Bay of Bengal and generally fair over the North Bay of Bengal.
FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 15th December 2024: Rain will be widespread in Taninthayi Region and isolated in Naypyitaw, Bago, Yangon, Ayeyarwady Regions and (Southern and Eastern)Shan, Kayah, Kayin, Mon States and likelihood of isolated heavyfalls in Taninthayi Region. Degree of certainty is 80%. Weather will be partly cloudy in the remaining Regions and States.
THE CONDITION OF CUMULONIMBUS CLOUD: The Cumulonimbus clouds are developing in Yangon, Taninthayi Regions. The area along the Cumulonimbus clouds movement, the weather phenomena such as strong winds accompanied with rain, thunder, lightning and hail may occur and therefore it is recommended to be aware in advance these phenomena.
STATE OF THE SEA: STATE OF THE SEA: Squall with moderate to rough seas are likely at time in Gulf of Mottama, off and along Mon-Taninthayi Coast. Surface wind speed in squall may reach 30-35 mph. Wave height will be about 7-9 feet in Gulf of Mottama, off and along Mon-Taninthayi Coast. Sea will be slight to moderate in Deltaic, off and along Rakhine Coast. Wave height will be about 4-7 feet in Deltaic, off and along Rakhine Coasts.
