17-12-2024: According to the observations at (17:30) hrs M.S.T today, the Well Marked Low Pressure Area over Southwest Bay of Bengal still persists. It is likely to move Northwestwards and reach to North Tamil Nadu and South Andhra Pradesh Coasts, India during next 24 hours. Thereafter, it is likely to move nearly Northwards and move along Andhra Pradesh Coast during 48 hours. Weather is generally fair over the North Andaman Sea and partly cloudy to cloudy over the South Andaman Sea and Bay of Bengal.

SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED FROM YESTERDAY MORNING 09:30 hrs M.S.T TO TODAY MORNING 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past (24) hours, rain h‌ave been isolated in Mandalay, Yangon, Ayeyarwady Regions and and Eastern Shan, Kayah States. Weather has been partly cloudy in the remaining Regions and States. Night temperatures were 4°C below December average temperature in Rakhine State and 2°C above December average temperatures in Mandalay, Bago Regions and (Northern and Southern)Shan, Kayin, Mon States and 3°C to 4°C above December average temperatures in Naypyitaw, Yangon, Ayeyarwady Regions and Eastern Shan State and about December average temperatures in the remaining Regions and States. The significant night temperatures were 3.0°C in Hakha, 6.7°C in Namsan(Southern Shan), 8.0°C in Tiddim, 8.8°C in Pyinoolwin, 9.5°C in Myitkyina, 10.0°C each in Heho and Loilin and 11.6°C in Taunggyi. The noteworthy amount of rainfall record were 0.43 inch in Kungyangon and 0.20 inch in Coco-Island.

BAY INFERENCE: According to the observations at (12:30) hrs M.S.T today, the low pressure area over South Bay of Bengal and adjoining East Equatorial India Ocean has intensified into a Well Marked Low Preassure Area. It is likely to move West-Northwestwards and may reach over Sri Lanka - Tamil Nadu Coasts, India, during next 24 hrs. Weather is partly cloudy to cloudy over the Andaman Sea and Bay of Bengal.

FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 11th December 2024: Rain are likely to be isolated in Upper Sagaing, Bago, Yangon, Ayeyarwady, Taninthayi Regions and Kachin, Northern Shan, Kayin, Mon States. Degree of certainty is 60%. Weather will be partly cloudy in the remaining Regions and States.

STATE OF THE SEA: STATE OF THE SEA: Sea will be slight to moderate in Myanmar waters. Wave height will be about 4-7 feet off and along Myanmar Coasts.

OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Likelihood of decrease of night temperatures in Upper Sagaing Region and Kachin, Northern Shan, Chin States.
