17-12-2024: According to the observations at (17:30) hrs M.S.T today, the Well Marked Low Pressure Area over Southwest Bay of Bengal still persists. It is likely to move Northwestwards and reach to North Tamil Nadu and South Andhra Pradesh Coasts, India during next 24 hours. Thereafter, it is likely to move nearly Northwards and move along Andhra Pradesh Coast during 48 hours. Weather is generally fair over the North Andaman Sea and partly cloudy to cloudy over the South Andaman Sea and Bay of Bengal.

SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED FROM YESTERDAY MORNING 09:30 hrs M.S.T TO TODAY MORNING 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past (24) hours, Light rain h‌ave been isolated in Taninthayi Region and Chin State. Weather has been generally fair in Naypyitaw, Bago, Yangon, Ayeyarwady Regions and Rakhine State and partly cloudy in the remaining Regions and States. Night temperatures were 3°C below December average temperature in Kachin State, and 2°C above December average temperatures in Yangon, Ayeyarwady Regions and Chin, Kayin States, 3°C to 4°C above December average temperatures in Naypyitaw, Sagaing, Mandalay, Magway Regions and Shan, Kayah States and about December average temperatures in the remaining Regions and States. The significant night temperatures were 5.2°C in Hakha, 7.7°C in Myitkyina, 8.3°C in Putao, 9.0°C in Machanbaw, 9.2°C in Tiddim, 10.0°C in Pyinoolwin, 10.5°C in Loilin, 10.8°C in Namsan (Southern Shan), 11.5°C in Mongyang and 12.0°C in Heho.

BAY INFERENCE: Weather is partly cloudy to cloudy over the South Andaman Sea and South Bay and a few cloud over the North Andaman Sea and elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal.

FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 5th December 2024: Light rain are likely to be isolated in Taninthayi Region and (Southern and Eastern)Shan State. Degree of certainty is 60%. Weather will be generally fair in Naypyitaw, Bago, Yangon, Ayeyarwady Regions and partly cloudy in the remaining Regions and States.

STATE OF THE SEA: STATE OF THE SEA: Sea will be slight to moderate in Myanmar waters. Wave height will be about 4-7 feet off and along Myanmar Coasts.

OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Likelihood of slight decrease of night temperatures in Sagaing, Mandalay, Magway Regions and Kachin, Shan, Chin States.
