18-12-2024: According to the observations at (05:30) hrs M.S.T today, the Well Marked Low Pressure Area over Southwest Bay of Bengal still persists. It is likely to move Northwestwards and reach to North Tamil Nadu and South Andhra Pradesh Coasts, India during next 24 hours. Thereafter, it is likely to move nearly Northwards and move along Andhra Pradesh Coast during 48 hours. Weather is a few cloud over the North Andaman Sea and partly cloudy to cloudy over the South Andaman Sea and Bay of Bengal.

SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED FROM YESTERDAY MORNING 09:30 hrs M.S.T TO TODAY MORNING 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past (24) hours, rain or thundershowers have been widespread in Southern Shan State and isolated in Naypyitaw. Weather has been partly cloudy in the remaining Regions and States. Night temperatures were 2°C above November average temperatures in Lower Sagaing, Magway Regions and Rakhine, Kayah States, 3°C to 4°C above November average temperatures in Naypyitaw, Mandalay Region and (Northern and Southern)Shan State and 5°C above November average temperature in Eastern Shan State and about November average temperatures in the remaining Regions and States. The significant night temperatures were 7.6°C in Hakha, 10.2°C in Tiddim and 12.1°C in Pyinoolwin. The noteworthy amount of rainfall recorded were 0.51 inch in Pinlaung, 0.39 inch in Namsam(Southern Shan), 0.35 inch in Pyinmana(Walgyi) and 0.16 inch in Heho.

BAY INFERENCE: According to the observations at (12:30) hrs M.S.T today, the low pressure area over Southwest Bay of Bengal has moved Westwards and now lies over Southwest Bay of Bengal off North Tamil Nadu and adjoining South Andhra Pradesh Coasts(India) still persists. Weather is a few cloud over the North Andaman Sea and partly cloudy to cloudy over the South Andaman Sea and Bay of Bengal.

Special Features: According to the observations at (12:30) hrs MST today, the Tropical Storm“(YINXING)” over the South China Sea has moved Southwestwards and crossed near Da Nang, Central coast of Vietnam and downgraded into a Tropical Depression.

According to the observations at (12:30) hrs MST today, the Severe Tropical Storm“(TORAJI)” over the South China Sea weaken into a Tropical Storm“(TORAJI)”. It is likely forecast continue to move West-Northwestwards.

FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 13th November 2024: Light rain or thundershowers will be scattered in Southern Shan State and isolated in Naypyitaw, Taninthayi Region and (Northern and Eastern)Shan, Chin, Rakhine States. Degree of certainty is 80%. Weather will be partly cloudy in the remaining Regions and States.

STATE OF THE SEA: STATE OF THE SEA: Sea will be slight to moderate in Myanmar waters. Wave height will be about 3-6 feet off and along Myanmar Coasts.

OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Likelihood of slight decrease of night temperatures in Upper Sagaing Region and Kachin, Shan, Chin States.
