17-12-2024: According to the observations at (17:30) hrs M.S.T today, the Well Marked Low Pressure Area over Southwest Bay of Bengal still persists. It is likely to move Northwestwards and reach to North Tamil Nadu and South Andhra Pradesh Coasts, India during next 24 hours. Thereafter, it is likely to move nearly Northwards and move along Andhra Pradesh Coast during 48 hours. Weather is generally fair over the North Andaman Sea and partly cloudy to cloudy over the South Andaman Sea and Bay of Bengal.

SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED FROM YESTERDAY MORNING 09:30 hrs M.S.T TO TODAY MORNING 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past (24) hours, rain or thundershowers have been widespread in Taninthayi Region and Mon State, scattered in Southern Shan, Kayah, Kayin States and isolated in Bago Region. Weather has been partly cloudy in the remaining Regions and States. The noteworthy amount of rainfall recorded were 2.60 inches in Kyunzu, 2.13 inches each in Thaton and Kyeikkhame, 1.85 inch in Kyeikmayaw, 1.78 inches in Palaw, 1.14 inches in Mudon,  0.98 inch in Dawei, 0.86 inch in Chaungsone, 0.79 inch in Yebyu and 0.63 inch in Mawlamyine.

BAY INFERENCE: Weather is partly cloudy over the Andaman Sea and South Bay of Bengal and a few cloud elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal.

FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 30th October 2024: Rain or thundershowers will be widespread in Taninthayi Region and Mon State, fairly widespread in Kayin State, scattered in Southern Shan State and isolated in Bago, Yangon Regions and Kayah State. Degree of certainty is 100%. Weather will be partly cloudy in the remaining Regions and States.

THE CONDITION OF CUMULONIMBUS CLOUD: The Cumulonimbus clouds are developing in Taninthayi Region. The area along the Cumulonimbus clouds movement, the weather phenomena such as strong winds accompanied with rain, thunder, lightning and hail may occur and therefore it is recommended to be aware in advance these phenomena.

STATE OF THE SEA: STATE OF THE SEA: Sea will be slight to moderate in Myanmar waters. Wave height will be about 3-7 feet off and along Myanmar Coasts.

OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Fairly widespread to widespread rain or thundershowers in Taninthayi Region and Kayin, Mon States.
