20-12-2024: According to the observations at (05:30) hrs M.S.T today, the Well Marked Low Pressure Area over Southwest Bay of Bengal now lies over Southwest Bay of Bengal and adjoining Westcentral Bay of Bengal still persists. It is likely to move Northwestwards and reach to North Tamil Nadu and South Andhra Pradesh Coasts, India during next 12 hours. Thereafter, it is likely to move nearly Northwards and move along Andhra Pradesh Coast during 36 hours. Weather is a few cloud over the North Andaman Sea and partly cloudy to cloudy over the South Andaman Sea and Bay of Bengal.

BAY INFERENCE: According to the observations at (17:30) hrs M.S.T today, the well marked low pressure area over South Bay of Bengal has moved West-Northwestwards and reached over Southwest Bay and adjoining Southeast Bay of Bengal still persists. It is likely to continue to move West-Northwestwards and may further intensify into a depression over Southwest Bay of Bengal during next (12) hrs and may reach to North Tamil Nadu and adjoining South Andhra Pradesh coasts, India around 17-10-2024 morning.

Southwest monsoon has been withdrawn from the whole country. Weather is partly cloudy to cloudy over the South Andaman Sea, South Bay and Westcentral Bay of Bengal and a few cloud over the North Andaman Sea and elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal.

FORECAST VALID UNTIL NOON OF THE 16th October 2024: Weather will be partly cloudy in Chin, Kayah States. Rain or thundershowers will be fairly widespread in Taninthayi Region and (Southern and Eastern)Shan State, scattered in Bago, Yangon, Ayeyarwady Regions and Kachin, Mon States and isolated in the remaining Regions and States. Degree of certainty is 100%.

THE CONDITION OF CUMULONIMBUS CLOUD: The Cumulonimbus clouds are developing in Mandalay, Ayeyarwady, Taninthayi Regions and Southern Shan, Rakhine, Kayin States. The area along the Cumulonimbus clouds movement, the weather phenomena such as strong winds accompanied with rain, thunder, lightning and hail may occur and therefore it is recommended to be aware in advance these phenomena.

STATE OF THE SEA: STATE OF THE SEA: Sea will be slight to moderate in Myanmar waters. Wave height will be about 4-7 feet off and along Myanmar Coasts.

OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Likelihood of scattered to fairly widespread rain or thundershowers in Taninthayi Region and (Southern and Eastern)Shan, Kayin, Mon States.

FORECAST FOR NAYPYITAW AND NEIGHBOURING AREA FOR 16th October 2024:                       A few cloud and likelihood of isolated light rain or thundershowers. Degree of certainty is 60%.
