18-12-2024: According to the observations at (05:30) hrs M.S.T today, the Well Marked Low Pressure Area over Southwest Bay of Bengal still persists. It is likely to move Northwestwards and reach to North Tamil Nadu and South Andhra Pradesh Coasts, India during next 24 hours. Thereafter, it is likely to move nearly Northwards and move along Andhra Pradesh Coast during 48 hours. Weather is a few cloud over the North Andaman Sea and partly cloudy to cloudy over the South Andaman Sea and Bay of Bengal.

SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED FROM YESTERDAY MORNING 09:30 hrs M.S.T TO TODAY MORNING 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past (24) hours, weather has been partly cloudy in Eastern Shan, Kayah States. Rain or thundershowers have been isolated in Bago, Yangon Regions and Northern Shan, Rakhine, Kayin States, scattered in Lower Sagaing, Magway, Ayeyarwady Regions and Mon State, fairly widespread in Upper Sagaing Region and Kachin State and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with isolated heavyfalls in Naypyitaw, Lower Sagaing, Mandalay, Magway Regions. The noteworthy amount of rainfall recorded were 4.92 inches in Naypyitaw (Pobbathiri), 3.03 inches in Shwebo, 2.61 inches in Myeik, 2.00 inches in Saw, 1.77 inches in Kalay, 1.74 inches in Pyay, 1.69 inches in Myitnge, 1.65 inches in Tada U(Avia-Met), 1.50 inches in Kyaukhtu and 1.34 inches in Wettigan(Laydatpyin). 

BAY INFERENCE: Weather is a few cloud over the Northeast Bay and Eastcentral Bay of Bengal. Monsoon is weak over the Andaman Sea and elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal.

FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 10th October 2024: Rain or thundershowers will be isolated in Eastern Shan, Rakhine, Kayah States, scattered in Naypyitaw, Lower Sagaing, Mandalay, Magway, Bago, Yangon, Ayeyarwady Regions and Northern Shan, Kayin, Mon States, fairly widespread in Upper Sagaing Region and Kachin, Chin States and widespread in the remaining Regions and States. Degree of certainty is 100%.

THE CONDITION OF CUMULONIMBUS CLOUD: The Cumulonimbus clouds are developing in Upper Sagaing, Mandalay, Taninthayi Regions and Kachin, Northern Shan States. The area along the Cumulonimbus clouds movement, the weather phenomena such as strong winds accompanied with rain, thunder, lightning and hail may occur and therefore it is recommended to be aware in advance these phenomena.

STATE OF THE SEA: STATE OF THE SEA: Sea will be slight to moderate in Myanmar waters. Wave height will be about 3-6 feet in off and along Myanmar Coasts.

OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Weak monsoon over the Andaman Sea and South Bay of Bengal.
