18-12-2024: According to the observations at (05:30) hrs M.S.T today, the Well Marked Low Pressure Area over Southwest Bay of Bengal still persists. It is likely to move Northwestwards and reach to North Tamil Nadu and South Andhra Pradesh Coasts, India during next 24 hours. Thereafter, it is likely to move nearly Northwards and move along Andhra Pradesh Coast during 48 hours. Weather is a few cloud over the North Andaman Sea and partly cloudy to cloudy over the South Andaman Sea and Bay of Bengal.

SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED FROM YESTERDAY MORNING 09:30 hrs M.S.T TO TODAY MORNING 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past (24) hours, rain or thundershowers have been scattered in Magway Region and Northern Shan State, fairly widespread in Mandalay Region  and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with isolated heavyfalls in Magway, Taninthayi Regions. The noteworthy amount of rainfall recorded were 3.07 inches in Myeik, 2.36 inches in Thayat, 2.05 inches in Myawaddy, 1.93 inches each in Kyaukpyu and Hainggyigyun, 1.81 inches in Kawkareik, 1.61 inches in Homalin, 1.58 inches each in Tamu and Khayan and 1.54 inches in Tharrawady.

BAY INFERENCE: According to the observations at (12:30)hrs MST today, a Low Pressure Area has formed over the North Bay of Bengal and adjoining coastal areas of Bangladesh and West Bengal(India). Weather is cloudy over the Northeast Bay of Bengal. Monsoon is weak to moderate over the Andaman Sea and elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal.

FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 5th October 2024: Rain or thundershowers will be scattered in Northern Shan, Kayah States, fairly widespread in Naypyitaw, Lower Sagaing, Mandalay, Magway, Bago Regions and Eastern Shan State and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with likelihood of isolated heavyfalls in Upper Sagaing Region and Kachin, Chin, Rakhine States. Degree of certainty is 100%.

THE CONDITION OF CUMULONIMBUS CLOUD: The Cumulonimbus clouds are developing in Taninthayi Region and Rakhine State. The area along the Cumulonimbus clouds movement, the weather phenomena such as strong winds accompanied with rain, thunder, lightning and hail may occur and therefore it is recommended to be aware in advance these phenomena.

STATE OF THE SEA: STATE OF THE SEA: Sea will be moderate in Myanmar waters. Wave height will be about 6-8 feet in off and along Myanmar Coasts.

OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Weak monsoon.

FORECAST FOR MANDALAY AND NEIGHBOURING AREA FOR  5thOctober 2024:                  Likelihood of isolated light rain with sunny period. Degree of certainty is 60%.

WEATHER OUTLOOK FOR WEEKEND: Rain or thundershowers will be fairly widespread in Naypyitaw, Mandalay Region and widespread in Yangon Region.
