BAY INFERENCE: Monsoon is strong over the Andaman Sea and South Bay of Bengal and weak to moderate elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal.

SPECIAL FEATURES: According to the observations at (17:30)hrs MST today, the Low Pressure Cell over the inland area of Thailand, Kayin, Mon, and Kayah States (Myanmar) is crossing to North Andaman Sea and adjoining Mon State, Bago, Yangon, Ayeyarwady Regions (Myanmar). After that, it is likely to continue to move Westwards and may intensify into a Low Pressure Area over the Central Bay of Bengal.

FORECAST VALID UNTIL NOON OF THE 22nd September 2024: Rain or thundershowers will be scattered in Lower Sagaing Region and Northern Shan States, fairly widespread in Mandalay, Magway Regions and Kachin, Eastern Shan, Kayah States and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with likelihood of regionally heavyfalls in Taninthayi Region and Kayin, Mon States and isolated heavyfalls in Naypyitaw, Upper Sagaing, Mandalay, Magway, Bago, Yangon, Ayeyarwady Regions and Rakhine, Kayah States. Degree of certainty is 100%.

THE CONDITION OFCUMULONIMBUS CLOUD: The Cumulonimbus clouds are developing in Sagaing, Mandaly, Bago, Yangon, Ayeyarwady, Taninthayi Regions and Kachin,Shan, Chin, Rakhine, Kayah, Kayin, Mon States. The area along the Cumulonimbus clouds movement, the weather phenomena such as strong winds accompanied with rain, thunder, lightning and hail may occur and therefore it is recommended to be aware in advance these phenomena.

STATE OF THE SEA: STATE OF THE SEA: Squalls with rough seas are likely at times in Deltaic, Gulf of Mottama, off and along Mon-Taninthayi Coasts. Surface wind speed in squalls may reach 35 mph. Wave height will be about 8-10 feet in Deltaic, Gulf of Mottama, off and along Mon-Taninthayi Coasts. Sea will be moderate elsewhere in Myanmar waters. Wave height will be about 5-7 feet off and along Rakhine Coasts.

OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Increase of rain in Naypyitaw, Magway, Bago, Yangon, Ayeyarwady, Taninthayi Regions and Chin, Rakhine, Kayah, Kayin, Mon States.
