21-12-2024:According to the observations at (17:30) hrs M.S.T today, the Depression over the Westcentral Bay of Bengal continues has moved East-Northeastwards. It is centered at about 510 Nautical miles West of Coco Island (Myanmar), 230 Nautical miles South-Southeast of Visakhapatnam (India). The centre pressure of Depression is (1003) hPa and maximum wind speed near the center is (30-35) miles per hour. Weather is a few cloud over the North Andaman Sea and partly cloudy to cloudy over the South Andaman Sea and Bay of Bengal.

BAY INFERENCE: Monsoon is strong  over the Andaman Sea and South Bay and weak to moderate elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal.

SPECIAL FEATURES: According to the observations at (05:30)hrs MST today, the Tropical Storm “SOULIK” crossed over  the inland areas of Vietnam Sea has moved Westwards and continue to Central part of Loas was downgraded into a Land Depression. It is likely to continue to move the Westward and weaken into a Low Pressure Cell over the Eastern part of Thailand. The remanant clouds and wind wave from Land Depression start cross over Kayah, Kayin, Mon States and Bago, Yangon, Ayeyarwady Regions (Myanmar) during next 24 hours and Thereafter, continue to move Westwards and it may re-initiate into a Low Pressure Area over the Andaman sea and Bay of Bengal.

FORECAST VALID UNTIL NOON OF THE 20th September 2024: Rain or thundershowers will be isolated in Upper Sagaing Region and Northern Shan, Kachin States, scattered in Lower Sagaing Region and Chin States, fairly widespread in Naypyitaw,  Mandalay, Magway Regions and (Southern and Eastern)Shan, Rakhine States and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with likelihood of isolated heavyfalls in Taninthayi Regions and Kayah, Kayin, Mon States. Degree of certainty is 100%.

THE CONDITION OF CUMULONIMBUS CLOUD: The Cumulonimbus clouds are developing in Ayeyarwady, Taninthayi Regions and Kayin  States.

STATE OF THE SEA: STATE OF THE SEA: Squalls with rough seas are likely at times in Deltaic, Gulf of Mottama, off and along Mon-Taninthayi Coasts. Surface wind speed in squalls may reach 35-40 mph. Wave height will be about 8-10 feet in Deltaic, Gulf of Mottama, off and along Mon-Taninthayi Coasts. Sea will be moderate elsewhere in Myanmar waters. Wave height will be about 5-7 feet in off and along Rakhine Coast.

OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Increase of rain in Naypyitaw, Mandalay, Magway, Bago, Yangon, Ayeyarwady, Taninthayi Regions and Shan, Rakhine, Kayah, Kayin, Mon States.
