19-12-2024: According to the observations at (15:30) hrs M.S.T today, the Well Marked Low Pressure Area over Southwest Bay of Bengal now lies over Southwest Bay of Bengal and adjoining Westcentral Bay of Bengal still persists. It is likely to move Northwestwards and reach to North Tamil Nadu and South Andhra Pradesh Coasts, India during next 12 hours. Thereafter, it is likely to move nearly Northwards and move along Andhra Pradesh Coast during 36 hours. Weather is a few cloud over the North Andaman Sea and partly cloudy to cloudy over the South Andaman Sea and Bay of Bengal.

SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED FROM YESTERDAY MORNING 09:30 hrs M.S.T TO TODAY MORNING 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past (24) hours, weather has been partly cloudy in Sagaing, Yangon Regions. Rain or thundershowers have been isolated in Mandalay, Magway, Bago Regions and Kachin, Northern Shan, Chin States, scattered in Rakhine, Kayah, Kayin States, fairly widespread in  Naypyitaw, Ayeyarwady Region and Southern Shan, Mon States and widespread in Taninthayi Region and Eastern Shan State. The noteworthy amount of rainfall recorded were 1.38 inches in Hpa-an, 1.15 inches in Paing Kyone, 1.03 inches in Naypyitaw(Ottarathiri), 0.83 inch in Kyaukpyu, 0.51 inch in Naypyitaw(Zabuthiri), 0.47 inch in Ann, 0.43 inch each in Minesat, Kawkereik and Kawthaung and 0.39 inch each in Heho and Paung.

BAY INFERENCE: According to the observations at (12:30) hrs MST today, the Deep Depression over Jharkhand(India) has moved West-Northwestwards and weaken into a Depression and now lies over the Northeast Chhattisgarh and adjoining Jharkhand(India).   Monsoon is moderate to strong over the Andaman Sea and Bay of Bengal.

FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 18th September 2024: Rain or thundershowers will be isolated in Lower Sagaing Region and Northern Shan State, scattered in Upper Sagaing, Mandalay, Magway Regions and Kachin, Chin, Kayah States, fairly widespread in Naypyitaw, Bago, Yangon, Ayeyarwady Regions and (Southern and Eastern)Shan, Rakhine, Kayin, Mon States and widespread in Taninthayi Region. Degree of certainty is 100%.

THE CONDITION OF CUMULONIMBUS CLOUD: The Cumulonimbus clouds are developing in Taninthayi Region and Kayin, Mon States.

STATE OF THE SEA: Squalls with moderate to rough seas are likely at times off and along Myanmar Coasts. Surface wind speed in squalls may reach 30-35 m.p.h. Wave height will be about 7-9 feet off and along Myanmar Coasts.

OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Likelihood of increase of rain in Naypyitaw, Magway, Bago, Yangon, Taninthayi Regions and Kayin, Mon States.
