21-12-2024:According to the observations at (17:30) hrs M.S.T today, the Depression over the Westcentral Bay of Bengal continues has moved East-Northeastwards. It is centered at about 510 Nautical miles West of Coco Island (Myanmar), 230 Nautical miles South-Southeast of Visakhapatnam (India). The centre pressure of Depression is (1003) hPa and maximum wind speed near the center is (30-35) miles per hour. Weather is a few cloud over the North Andaman Sea and partly cloudy to cloudy over the South Andaman Sea and Bay of Bengal.

BAY INFERENCE: According to the observations at (15:30) hrs MST today, the Low Pressure Area over Northeast Bay of Bengal and adjoining Southeast Bangladesh Coast has further intensified into a Well Marked Low Pressure Area. It is likely to move West-Northwestwards and may further intensify into a depression over Coastal West Bengal (India) and adjoining Northwest Bay of Bengal on 14-9-2024. Monsoon is strong over the Andaman Sea and South Bay and vigorous elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal.

FORECAST VALID UNTIL NOON OF THE 14th September 2024: Rain or thundershowers will be fairly widespread in Kachin, Kayah States and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with likelihood of regionally heavyfalls in Naypyitaw and Rakhine State and isolated heavyfalls in Sagaing, Mandalay, Magway, Yangon, Ayeyarwady Regions and Chin State. Degree of certainty is 100%.

THE CONDITION OF CUMULONIMBUS CLOUD: The Cumulonimbus clouds are developing in Naypyitaw, Sagaing, Mandalay, Magway, Bago,  Ayeyarwady, Taninthayi Regions and   Chin, Rakhine, Kayah, Kayin, Mon States.

STATE OF THE SEA: Occasional squalls with rough seas will be experienced in Deltaic, off and along Rakhine Coasts. Surface wind speed in squalls may reach 40-45 mph. Wave height will be about 9-11 feet in Deltaic, off and along Rakhine Coasts. Squalls with moderate to rough seas are likely at times in Gulf of Mottama, off and along Mon-Taninthayi Coasts. Surface wind speed in squalls may reach 30-35 mph. Wave height will be about 7-9 feet in Gulf of Mottama, off and along Mon-Taninthayi Coasts.

OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Strong monsoon over the Andaman Sea and South Bay of Bengal.
