19-12-2024: According to the observations at (15:30) hrs M.S.T today, the Well Marked Low Pressure Area over Southwest Bay of Bengal now lies over Southwest Bay of Bengal and adjoining Westcentral Bay of Bengal still persists. It is likely to move Northwestwards and reach to North Tamil Nadu and South Andhra Pradesh Coasts, India during next 12 hours. Thereafter, it is likely to move nearly Northwards and move along Andhra Pradesh Coast during 36 hours. Weather is a few cloud over the North Andaman Sea and partly cloudy to cloudy over the South Andaman Sea and Bay of Bengal.

BAY INFERENCE: Monsoon is strong over the Andaman Sea and South Bay and vigorous elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal.

SPECIAL FEACTURES: According to the observations at (15:30) hrs MST today, the wind wave over Lower Sagaing, Magway Regions and Chin, Rakhine States has moved North-Northwestwards and reached over Chin, Rakhine States. It is likely to continue to move slowly West-Northwestwards and may reach Bangladesh Coast and adjoining Northwest Bay of Bengal during next 24 hours.

FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 13th September 2024: Rain or thundershowers will be widespread in Naypyitaw, Sagaing, Mandalay, Magway, Bago, Yangon, Ayeyarwaddy, Taninthayi Regions and Kachin, Shan, Chin, Rakhine, Kayah, Kayin Mon States with likelihood of regionally heavyfalls in Naypyitaw, Lower Sagaing, Magway Regions and Chin, Rakhine States and isolated heavyfalls in Mandalay, Bago, Yangon, Ayeyarwady, Taninthayi Regions and Southern Shan State. Degree of certainty is 100%.

THE CONDITION OF CUMULONIMBUS CLOUD: The Cumulonimbus clouds are developing in Naypyitaw, Upper Sagaing,Magway, Bago, Yangon, Ayeyarwady, Taninthayi Regions and  Shan, Chin, Rakhine, Kayin, Mon States.

STATE OF THE SEA: Occasional squalls with rough seas will be experienced in Deltaic, off and along Rakhine Coasts. Surface wind speed in squalls may reach 40-45 mph. Wave height will be about 9-11 feet in Deltaic, off and along Rakhine Coasts. Squalls with moderate to rough seas are likely at times in Gulf of Mottama, off and along Mon-Taninthayi Coasts. Surface wind speed in squalls may reach 30-35 mph. Wave height will be about 7-9 feet in Gulf of Mottama, off and along Mon-Taninthayi Coasts.

OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Continuations of increase of rain in Chin, Rakhine States.
