19-12-2024: According to the observations at (15:30) hrs M.S.T today, the Well Marked Low Pressure Area over Southwest Bay of Bengal now lies over Southwest Bay of Bengal and adjoining Westcentral Bay of Bengal still persists. It is likely to move Northwestwards and reach to North Tamil Nadu and South Andhra Pradesh Coasts, India during next 12 hours. Thereafter, it is likely to move nearly Northwards and move along Andhra Pradesh Coast during 36 hours. Weather is a few cloud over the North Andaman Sea and partly cloudy to cloudy over the South Andaman Sea and Bay of Bengal.

SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED FROM YESTERDAY MORNING 09:30 hrs M.S.T TO TODAY MORNING 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past (24) hours, rain or thundershowers have been fairly widespread in Upper Sagaing Region and Kachin, Northern Shan, Kayah States and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with regionally heavyfalls in Naypyitaw, Mandalay, Magway Regions and Southern Shan, Rakhine, Kayin, Mon States and isolated heavyfalls in Lower Sagaing, Bago, Yangon, Ayeyarwady, Taninthayi Regions. The noteworthy amount of rainfall recorded were 11.89 inches in Thazi(Hlaingtat), 11.22 inches in Yamethin, 10.56 inches in Pyawbwe, 8.58 inches in Pinlaung, 7.96 inches in Kya-In-Seikkyi, 7.36 inches in Hpa-an, 6.50 inches in Loilin, 6.11 inches in Taunggyi, 5.63 inches in Kyeikmayaw and 5.43 inches in Ngapudaw.

BAY INFERENCE: Monsoon is strong over the Andaman Sea and Bay of Bengal.

SPECIAL FEACTURES: According to the observations at (12:30) hrs MST today, the wave over Central and Northwest Myanmar areas still persists. It is likely to move West-Northwestwards slowly and continue to cross Chin and Rakhine States.

FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 12th September 2024: Rain or thundershowers will be fairly widespread in Upper Sagaing Region and Kachin, Northern Shan States and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with likelihood of regionally heavyfalls in Naypyitaw, Mandalay, Magway Regions and Southern Shan, Rakhine States and isolated heavyfalls in Sagaing, Bago, Yangon, Ayeyarwady, Taninthayi Regions and Chin, Kayin, Mon States. Degree of certainty is 100%.

THE CONDITION OF CUMULONIMBUS CLOUD: The Cumulonimbus clouds are developing in Naypyitaw, Lower Sagaing, Mandalay, Magway, Bago, Yangon, Ayeyarwady, Taninthayi Regions and Southern Shan, Chin, Rakhine, Kayah, Kayin, Mon States.

STATE OF THE SEA: Occasional squalls with rough seas will be experienced in Deltaic, off and along Rakhine Coasts. Surface wind speed in squalls may reach 40 mph. Wave height will be about 9-11 feet in Deltaic, off and along Rakhine Coasts. Squalls with moderate to rough seas are likely at times in Gulf of Mottama, off and along Mon-Taninthayi Coasts. Surface wind speed in squalls may reach 30-35 mph. Wave height will be about 7-9 feet in Gulf of Mottama, off and along Mon-Taninthayi Coasts.

OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Increase of rain in Chin, Rakhine States.
