19-12-2024: According to the observations at (15:30) hrs M.S.T today, the Well Marked Low Pressure Area over Southwest Bay of Bengal now lies over Southwest Bay of Bengal and adjoining Westcentral Bay of Bengal still persists. It is likely to move Northwestwards and reach to North Tamil Nadu and South Andhra Pradesh Coasts, India during next 12 hours. Thereafter, it is likely to move nearly Northwards and move along Andhra Pradesh Coast during 36 hours. Weather is a few cloud over the North Andaman Sea and partly cloudy to cloudy over the South Andaman Sea and Bay of Bengal.

SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED FROM YESTERDAY MORNING 09:30 hrs M.S.T TO TODAY MORNING 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past (24) hours, weather has been partly cloudy in Kayah State. Rain or thundershowers have been isolated in Upper Sagaing Region and Northern Shan State, scattered in Naypyitaw, Lower Sagaing, Magway Regions and Southern Shan, Chin States, fairly widespread in Mandalay Region and Rakhine State and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with regionally heavyfalls in Mon State and isolated heavyfalls in Magway Region. The noteworthy amount of rainfall recorded were 3.54 inches in Mudon, 3.23 inches in Kyeikkhame, 3.18 inches in Belin, 3.15 inches in Ye, 2.72 inches each in Hpa-an and Thaton, 2.40 inches in Dawei, 2.25 inches each in Yangon(Mingaladon), Ngapudaw and Kyeikmayaw and 2.16 inches each in Myitkyina and Kawkareik.

BAY INFERENCE: According to the observations at (10:30) hrs M.S.T today, the Well Marked Low Pressure Area over Westcentral Bay and adjoining Northwest Bay of Bengal has further intensified into a Depression. It is centered at about 355 Nautical miles West-Southwest of Sittwe, 420 Nautical miles West  of  Thandwe (Myanmar), 165 Nautical miles East of Kalingapatnam(India), 145 Nautical miles East-Southeast of Gopalpur, 140 Nautical miles South-Southeast of Paradip and 220 Nautical miles South of Digha. Monsoon is strong over the Andaman Sea and Bay of Bengal.

SPECIAL FEACTURES: According to the observations at (12:30) hrs MST today, the Tropical Storm “Yagi” over Mai Hich, Vietnam has moved Northwestwards and drowngraded into a Land Depression. It is likely continue to move slowly Northwestwards.

FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 9th September 2024: Rain or thundershowers will be isolated in Kayah State, scattered in Sagaing, Magway Regions and Chin State, fairly widespread in Naypyitaw, Mandalay Region and Northern Shan State and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with likelihood of isolated heavyfalls in Eastern Shan, Kayin, Mon States. Degree of certainty is 100%.

THE CONDITION OF CUMULONIMBUS CLOUD: The Cumulonimbus clouds are developing in Upper Sagaing, Yangon, Ayeyarwady, Taninthayi Regions and Rakhine, Mon States.

STATE OF THE SEA: Occassional squalls with rough seas will be experienced off and along Myanmar Coasts. Surface wind speed in squalls may reach 40 mph. Wave height will be about 9 - 12 feet off and along Myanmar Coasts.

OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS:  Increase of rain in Naypyitaw, Upper Sagaing, Mandalay, Bago, Taninthayi Regions and Shan, Kayah, Kayin, Mon States.
