19-12-2024: According to the observations at (17:30) hrs M.S.T today, the Well Marked Low Pressure Area over Southwest Bay of Bengal now lies over Southwest Bay of Bengal and adjoining Westcentral Bay of Bengal still persists. It is likely to move Northwestwards and reach to North Tamil Nadu and South Andhra Pradesh Coasts, India during next 12 hours. Thereafter, it is likely to move nearly Northwards and move along Andhra Pradesh Coast during 36 hours. Weather is a few cloud over the North Andaman Sea and partly cloudy to cloudy over the South Andaman Sea and Bay of Bengal.

SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED FROM YESTERDAY MORNING 09:30 hrs M.S.T TO TODAY MORNING 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past (24) hours, weather has been partly cloudy in Chin State. Rain or thundershowers have been isolated in Magway Region and Kayah State, scattered in Lower Sagaing Region and Northern Shan State, fairly widespread in Upper Sagaing Region and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with isolated heavyfalls in Mandalay, Ayeyarwady Regions and Mon State. The noteworthy amount of rainfall recorded were 3.90 inches in Kyaitlat, 3.46 inches in Chaungsone, 2.50 inches in Ngazun, 2.37 inches in Thaton, 1.81 inches each in Kyeikkhame and Paung, 1.69 inches in Kungyangon, 1.57 inches in Kyeikmayaw, 1.54 inches in Coco Island, 1.50 inches in Ngapudaw and 1.42 inches in Myinmu.

BAY INFERENCE: According to the observations at (12:30) hrs M.S.T today, the low pressure area over the Westcentral Bay and adjoining Northwest Bay of Bengal (off North  Andhra Pradesh - South Odisha coasts, India) still persists over the Central Bay of Bengal and adjoining North Bay of Bengal. It is likely to move gradually Northwards and may further intensify into a Well Marked Low Pressure Area during next 24 hours and thereafter, into a Depression over the Northwest Bay of Bengal and adjoining Gangetic West Bengal- North Odisha Coasts, India and Bangladesh Coast on 9-9-2024. Monsoon is strong over the Andaman Sea and South Bay of Bengal and moderate to strong elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal.

SPECIAL FEACTURES: According to the observations at (12:30) hrs MST today, the Typhoon “Yagi” over South China Sea has slowly moved West-Northwest slowly. It is likely continue to move West-Northwestwards and make landfall over Hainan, China during next 6 hours and Upper Vietnam during next 36 hours.

FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 7th September 2024: Rain or thundershowers will be isolated in scatterd in Sagaing, Magway Regions and Kachin, Chin States, fairly widespread in Mandalay Region and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with likelihood of isolated heavyfalls in Mandalay Region and Mon State. Degree of certainty is 100%.

THE CONDITION OF CUMULONIMBUS CLOUD: The Cumulonimbus clouds are developing in Bago, Yangon, Ayeyarwady, Taninthayi Regions and Rakhine State.

STATE OF THE SEA: Squalls with rough seas are likely at times off and along Myanmar Coasts. Surface wind speed in squalls may reach 35-40 mph. Wave height will be about 8 - 10 feet off and along Myanmar Coasts.

OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS:  Increase of rain in Bago, Taninthayi Regions and Shan, Kayah, Kayin, Mon States.

WEATHER OUTLOOK FOR WEEKEND: Rain or thundershowers will be widespread in Naypyitaw, Yangon and Mandalay Regions.
