SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED FROM YESTERDAY MORNING 09:30 hrs M.S.T TO TODAY MORNING 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past (24) hours, weather has been partly cloudy in Kayah State. Rain or thundershowers have been isolated in Mandalay, Magway Regions, scattered in Naypyitaw, Lower Sagaing Region and Northern Shan State, fairly widespread in Yangon Region and Chin State and widespread in the remaining Regions and States. The noteworthy amount of rainfall recorded were 2.52 inches in Gwa, 2.44 inches in Taunggyi, 2.20 inches each in Putao and Hainggyigyun, 1.93 inches in Katha, 1.81 inches in Sittwe, 1.72 inches in Pantanaw, 1.66 inches in Kawthaung, 1.54 inches each in Pinlaung and Coco Island and 1.50 inches in Machanbaw.
BAY INFERENCE: According to the observations at (13:30) hrs M.S.T today, a low pressure area has formed over the Westcentral Bay and adjoining Northwest Bay of Bengal (off North Andhra Pradesh - South Odisha coasts, India). It is likely to move gradually North-Northwestwards during next 48 hours. Monsoon is strong over the Andaman Sea and South Bay of Bengal and moderate elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal.
SPECIAL FEACTURES: According to the observations at (12:30) hrs MST today, the Typhoon “Yagi” over South China Sea has moved West slowly. It is likely continue to move Westwards and move through Hainan, China and make landfall over Upper Vientnam druing next 48 hours.
FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 6th September 2024: Rain or thundershowers will be isolated in Magway Region and Kayah State, scatterd in Naypyitaw, Lower Sagaing, Mandalay Regions and Northern Shan State, fairly widespread in Chin, Rakhine States and widespread in the remaining Regions and States. Degree of certainty is 100%.
THE CONDITION OF CUMULONIMBUS CLOUD: The Cumulonimbus clouds are developing in Sagaing, Ayeyarwady Regions and Kachin, Shan, Kayin, Mon States.
STATE OF THE SEA: Squalls with moderate to rough seas are likely at times off and along Myanmar Coasts. Surface wind speed in squalls may reach 35 mph. Wave height will be about 7 - 9 feet off and along Myanmar Coasts.
OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Increase of rain in Taninthayi Region and Eastern Shan, Kayin, Mon States.
