BAY INFERENCE: Monsoon is strong over the Andaman Sea and South Bay of Bengal and weak to moderate elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal.
SPECIAL FEACTURES: According to the observations at (06:30) hrs MST today, the severe tropical Storm “Yagi” over South China Sea moved West-Northwestwards and has further intensified into a Typhoon “Yagi”. It is likely forecast to move Westwards slowly.
FORECAST VALID UNTIL EVENING OF THE 5th September 2024: Rain or thundershowers will be isolated in Magway Regions and Kayah States, scatterd in Naypyitaw, Lower Sagaing, Mandalay Regions and Northern Shan States and fairly widespread in Upper Sagaing, Bago Regions and Eastern Shan, Chin, Rakhine States and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with likelihood of isolated heavyfalls in Upper Sagaing Region. Degree of certainty is 100%.
THE CONDITION OF CUMULONIMBUS CLOUD: The Cumulonimbus clouds are developing in Sagaing, Mandalay, Ayeyarwady, Taninthayi Regions and Kachin, Chin, Rakhine States.
STATE OF THE SEA: Squalls with moderate to rough seas are likely at times in Deltaic, Gulf of Mottama, off and along Mon-Taninthayi Coasts. Surface wind speed in squalls may reach 30-35 mph. Wave height will be about 7 - 9 feet in Deltaic, Gulf of Mottama, off and along Mon-Taninthayi Coasts. Sea will be moderate elsewhere in Myanmar waters. Wave height will be about 5 - 7 feet in off and along Rakhine Coast.
OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Increase of rain in Taninthayi Region and Kayin, Mon States.
