23-12-2024: According to the observations at (17:30) hrs M.S.T today, the Well Marked Low Pressure Area over Southwest Bay of Bengal and adjoining Westcentral Bay(off South Andhra Pradesh and North Tamil Nadu Coasts) still persists. It is likely to move West-Southwestwards and reach Southwest Bay of Bengal(near North Tamil Nadu and South Andhra Pradesh Coasts, India) during 24-12-2024. Weather is a few cloud over the North Andaman Sea, North Bay and Eastern Bay of Bengal and partly cloudy to cloudy over the South Andaman Sea and elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal.

BAY INFERENCE: Monsoon is strong over the Andaman Sea and South Bay of Bengal and weak to moderate elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal.

SPECIAL FEACTURES: According to the observations at (15:30) hrs MST today, the Typhoon “Yagi”over South China Sea likely forecast to move Westwards slowly.

  FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 5th September 2024: Rain or thundershowers will be scatterd in Lower Sagaing, Magway Regions and Chin, Kayah States, fairly widespread in Naypyitaw, Upper Sagaing, Mandalay Regions and Kachin, (Northern and Eastern)Shan, Rakhine States and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with likelihood of isolated heavyfalls in Taninthayi Region and Southern Shan, Rakhine, Mon States. Degree of certainty is 100%.

THE CONDITION OF CUMULONIMBUS CLOUD: The Cumulonimbus clouds are developing in Naypyitaw, Sagaing, Mandalay, Magway Regions and Kachin, Shan, Rakhine, Kayin States.

STATE OF THE SEA: Squalls with moderate to rough seas are likely at times in Deltaic, Gulf of Mottama, off and along Mon-Taninthayi Coasts. Surface wind speed in squalls may reach 30-35 mph. Wave height will be about 7 - 9 feet in Deltaic, Gulf of Mottama, off and along Mon-Taninthayi Coasts. Sea will be moderate elsewhere in Myanmar waters. Wave height will be about 5 - 7 feet in off and along Rakhine Coast.

OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS:  Increase of rain in Taninthayi Region and Kayin, Mon States.
