19-12-2024: According to the observations at (17:30) hrs M.S.T today, the Well Marked Low Pressure Area over Southwest Bay of Bengal now lies over Southwest Bay of Bengal and adjoining Westcentral Bay of Bengal still persists. It is likely to move Northwestwards and reach to North Tamil Nadu and South Andhra Pradesh Coasts, India during next 12 hours. Thereafter, it is likely to move nearly Northwards and move along Andhra Pradesh Coast during 36 hours. Weather is a few cloud over the North Andaman Sea and partly cloudy to cloudy over the South Andaman Sea and Bay of Bengal.

BAY INFERENCE: According to the observations at (05:30) hrs M.S.T today, the low pressure area over the Central and adjoining North Bay of Bengal has moved West-Northwestwards and now lies over Westcentral and adjoining Northwest Bay of Bengal still persists. It is likely to move West-Northwestwards and may intensify into a Well Markes Low Pressure Area during next 12 hours and thereafter, into a Depression near North Andhra Pradesh and adjoining South Odisha Coasts, India during next 48 hours. Monsoon is moderate to strong over the Andaman Sea Bay of Bengal.

FORECAST VALID UNTIL EVENING OF THE 30th August 2024: Rain or thundershowers will be isolated in Mandalay, Magway Regions and Northern Shan, Kayah States, scattered in Naypyitaw,  Sagaing , Bago Regions and Kachin, Southern Shan, Chin, Rakhine States, fairly widespread in  Eastern shan, Kayin States and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with likelihood of isolated heavyfalls  in Yangon, Ayeyarwady Regions . Degree of certainty is 100%.

THE CONDITION OF CUMULONIMBUS CLOUD: The Cumulonimbus clouds are developing in Lower Sagaing, Yangon, Ayeyarwady, Taninthayi Regions and Kachin State.

STATE OF THE SEA: Occassional squalls with rough seas will be experienced in Deltaic, Gulf of Mottama, off and along Mon-Taninthayi Coasts. Surface wind speed in squalls may reach 40 mph. Wave height will be about 9 - 11 feet in Deltaic, Gulf of Mottama, off and along Mon-Taninthayi Coasts. Sea will be moderate elsewhere in Myanmar waters. Wave height will be about 6 - 8 feet in off and along Rakhine Coast.

OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYSLikelihood of increase of rain in Bago, Yangon, Ayeyarwady, Taninthayi Regions and Rakhine, Kayin, Mon States.
