23-12-2024: According to the observations at (17:30) hrs M.S.T today, the Well Marked Low Pressure Area over Southwest Bay of Bengal and adjoining Westcentral Bay(off South Andhra Pradesh and North Tamil Nadu Coasts) still persists. It is likely to move West-Southwestwards and reach Southwest Bay of Bengal(near North Tamil Nadu and South Andhra Pradesh Coasts, India) during 24-12-2024. Weather is a few cloud over the North Andaman Sea, North Bay and Eastern Bay of Bengal and partly cloudy to cloudy over the South Andaman Sea and elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal.

BAY INFERENCE According to the observations at (17:30) hrs M.S.T today, the low pressure area over the Central and adjoining North Bay of Bengal still persists. It is likely to move West-Northwestwards and become more marked over Westcentral and adjoining Northwest Bay of Bengal on 30-8-2024. Thereafter, it is likely to intensify into a Depression on 1-9-2024.Monsoon is strong over the Andaman Sea and South Bay and moderate elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal.

FORECAST VALID UNTIL NOON OF THE 30th August 2024: Rain or thundershowers will be isolated in Kachin, Northern Shan, Kayah States, scattered in Upper Sagaing  Regions and, fairly widespread in  Mandalay, Magway Regions and Rakhine State and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with likelihood of isolated heavyfalls in  Bago,Yangon, Ayeyarwady, Taninthayi Regions and Mon State. Degree of certainty is 100%.

THE CONDITION OF CUMULONIMBUS CLOUD: The Cumulonimbus clouds are developing in Naypyitaw, Mandalay, Magway, Bago,  Ayeyarwady Regions and  Southern Shan, Rakhine, Kayin, Mon States.

STATE OF THE SEA: Occassional squalls with rough seas will be experienced in Deltaic, Gulf of Mottama, off and along Mon-Taninthayi Coasts. Surface wind speed in squalls may reach 40 mph. Wave height will be about 9 - 11 feet in Deltaic, Gulf of Mottama, off and along Mon-Taninthayi Coasts. Sea will be moderate elsewhere in Myanmar waters. Wave height will be about 6 - 8 feet in off and along Rakhine Coast.

OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYSLikelihood of increase of rain in Bago, Yangon, Ayeyarwady, Taninthayi Regions and Rakhine, Kayin, Mon States.
