24-12-2024: According to the observations at (05:30) hrs M.S.T today, the Well Marked Low Pressure Area over Southwest Bay of Bengal and adjoining Westcentral Bay(off South Andhra Pradesh and North Tamil Nadu Coasts) still persists. It is likely to move West-Southwestwards and reach Southwest Bay of Bengal(near North Tamil Nadu and South Andhra Pradesh Coasts, India) during next 24 hours. Weather is a few cloud over the North Bay and partly cloudy to cloudy over the Andaman Sea and elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal.

SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED FROM YESTERDAY MORNING 09:30 hrs M.S.T TO TODAY MORNING 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past (24) hours, weather has been partly cloudy in Kayah State. Rain or thundershowers have been isolated in Naypyitaw, Mandalay Region and Northern Shan State, scattered in Lower Sagaing, Magway Regions and Kachin State, fairly widespread in Upper Sagaing Region and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with isolated heavyfalls in Magway, Yangon Regions and Kayin State. The noteworthy amount of rainfall recorded were 4.41 inches in Hpa-an, 3.15 inches in Okkan, 2.99 inches in Madauk, 2.49 inches each in Danubyu and Kawthaung, 2.40 inches in Minesat, 2.00 inches in Paing Kyone, 1.94 inches in Zalun, 1.89 inches in Shwekyin, 1.81 inches in Paung and 1.78 inches in Dawei.

BAY INFERENCE: Monsoon is moderate over the Andaman Sea and Bay of Bengal.

FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 28th August 2024: Rain or thundershowers will be isolated in Mandalay, Magway Regions and Kayah State, scattered in Lower Sagaing Region and Kachin, Northern Shan States, fairly widespread in Naypyitaw, Upper Sagaing Region and widespread in the remaining Regions and States. Degree of certainty is 100%.

THE CONDITION OF CUMULONIMBUS CLOUD: The Cumulonimbus clouds are developing in Upper Sagaing, Mandalay, Bago, Ayeyarwady Regions and Shan, Chin, Rakhine States.

STATE OF THE SEA: Sea will be moderate in Myanmar waters. Wave height will be about (6-8) feet in off and along Myanmar Coasts.

OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS:  Increase of rain in Taninthayi Region and Kayin, Mon States.
