SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED FROM YESTERDAY MORNING 09:30 hrs M.S.T TO TODAY MORNING 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past (24) hours, rain or thundershowers have been isolated in Mandalay Region and Kachin, Northern Shan States, scattered in Lower Sagaing and Magway Regions, fairly widespread in Bago, Yangon Regions and Kayah State and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with isolated heavyfalls in Naypyitaw and Upper Sagaing Region. The noteworthy amount of rainfall recorded were 3.23 inches in Kalay, 2.60 inches in Kalewa, 2.56 inches in Mawlamyine, 2.21 inches in Hpa-an, 2.13 inches in Naypyitaw(Ottarathiri), 1.77 inches in Mingin, 1.73 inches Naypyitaw(Zayarthiri), 1.65 inches in Shan- Ywar- Thit and 1.62 inches each in Ngapudaw and Sittwe.
BAY INFERENCE: Monsoon is moderate over the Andaman Sea and Bay of Bengal.
FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 27th August 2024: Rain or thundershowers will be isolated in Lower Sagaing, Mandalay Regions and Kachin State, scattered in Magway Region and Northern Shan, Kayah States, fairly widespread in Bago Region and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with likelihood of isolated heavyfalls in Rakhine, Kayin, Mon States. Degree of certainty is 100%.
THE CONDITION OF CUMULONIMBUS CLOUD: The Cumulonimbus clouds are developing in Bago, Yangon, Ayeyarwady Regions and (Northern and Eastern)Shan, Chin, Rakhine, Kayin, Mon States.
STATE OF THE SEA: Sea will be moderate in Myanmar waters. Wave height will be about (6-8) feet in off and along Myanmar Coasts.
OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Likelihood of increase of rain in Taninthayi Region and Shan, Kayin, Mon States.
