22-12-2024: According to the observations at (17:30) hrs M.S.T today, the Well Marked Low Pressure Area over Westcentral Bay of Bengal still persists. It is likely to move West-Southwestwards and reach to Southwest Bay of Bengal(North Tamil Nadu and South Andhra Pradesh Coasts)India during 24-12-2024. Weather is cloudy over the South Andaman Sea and South Bay of Bengal partly and a few cloud to partly cloudy over the North Andaman Sea and Bay of Bengal.

SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED FROM YESTERDAY MORNING 09:30 hrs M.S.T TO TODAY MORNING 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past (24) hours, rain or thundershowers have been scattered in Northern Shan State, farily widespread in Magway, Bago Regions and Kachin, Kayah, Kayin States and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with isolated heavyfalls in Mandalay Region and Rakhine State. The noteworthy amount of rainfall recorded were 4.09 inches in Gwa, 3.58 inches in Pyinoolwin(Zeepingyi), 2.63 inches in Kyaukpyu, 2.56 inches in Zalun, 2.28 inches in Heho, 2.21 inches in Phyu, 2.01 inches in Pathein,  1.93 inches each in Shwekyin and Madauk, 1.81 inches each in Tharrawady and Kyeikkhame and 1.78 inches in Sittwe.

BAY INFERENCE:  According to the observations at (13:30) hrs M.S.T today, the low pressure area over Northwest Bay and adjoining West Bengal, India and Bangladesh still persists. It may further intensify and move West-Northwestwards across West Bengal Coast and Jharkhand, India during next 3 days. Monsoon is moderate over the Andaman Sea and Bay of Bengal.

FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 17th August 2024: Rain or thundershowers will be scattered in Magway Region and Kayah State, fairly widespread in Kachin, Northern Shan States and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with likelihood of isolated heavyfalls in Sagaing, Yangon, Ayeyarwady Regions and Rakhine State. Degree of certainty is 100%.

THE CONDITION OF CUMULONIMBUS CLOUD: The Cumulonimbus clouds are developing in Sagaing, Mandalay, Magway, Bago, Yangon, Ayeyarwady Regions and (Northern and Southern) Shan, Chin, Rakhine States.

STATE OF THE SEA: Sea will be moderate in Myanmar Waters. Wave height will be about 5-7 feet off and along Myanmar Coasts.

OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Increase of rain in Shan, Kayin and Mon States.

FORECAST FOR NAYPYITAW AND NEIGHBOURING AREA FOR 17th August 2024: Isolated rain or thundershowers. Degree of certainty is 100%.
