SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED FROM YESTERDAY MORNING 09:30 hrs M.S.T TO TODAY MORNING 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past (24) hours, rain or thundershowers have been fairly widespread in Lower Sagaing, Mandalay Regions and Kachin, Northern Shan, Kayah States and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with regionally heavyfalls in Rakhine, Kayin, Mon States and isolated heavyfalls in Upper Sagaing, Magway, Bago, Yangon Regions and Southern Shan State. The noteworthy amount of rainfall recorded were 6.22 inches in Pinlaung, 5.71 inches in Shan-Ywar-Thit, 5.59 inches in Ann, 5.50 inches in Paing Kyone, 4.84 inches in Belin, 4.61 inches in Tamu, 4.40 inches in Kya-In-Seikkyi, 4.21 inches in Kyaukpyu, 3.94 inches in Hlaingbwe, 3.82 inches in Bago and 3.66 inches in Hpa-an.

BAY INFERENCE:  Monsoon is strong over the Andaman Sea and Bay of Bengal.

FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 2nd August 2024: Rain or thundershowers will be fairly widespread in Lower Sagaing, Mandalay, Magway Regions and Kayah State and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with likelihood of regionally heavyfalls in Rakhine State and isolated heavyfalls in Naypyitaw, Magway, Bago, Taninthayi Regions and Chin, Kayin, Mon States. Degree of certainty is 100%.

THE CONDITION OF CUMULONIMBUS CLOUD: The Cumulonimbus clouds are developing in Upper Sagaing, Magway, Bago, Yangon, Ayeyarwady, Taninthayi Regions and (Northern and Eastern)Shan, Chin, Rakhine, Kayin, Mon States.

STATE OF THE SEA: Squalls with rough seas are likely at times in off and along Myanmar Coasts. Surface wind speed in squalls may reach 35 mph. Wave height will be about 8-10 feet in off and along Myanmar Coasts.

OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Moderate to strong monsoon.
