SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED FROM YESTERDAY MORNING 09:30 hrs M.S.T TO TODAY MORNING 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past (24) hours, weather has been partly cloudy in Lower Sagaing Region and Kayah State. Rain or thundershowers have been isolated in Mandalay Region and Northern Shan State, scattered in Magway Region, fairly widespread in Eastern Shan State and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with isolated heavyfalls in Upper Sagaing Region. The noteworthy amount of rainfall recorded were 3.39 inches in Hkmati, 2.96 inches in Taunggu, 2.80 inches in Kyaukpyu, 2.76 inches in Okkan, 2.40 inches in Nyaungdon, 2.32 inches in Kyeikkhame, 2.24 inches in Shan-Ywar-Thit, 2.17 inches in Phyarpon, 2.13 inches in Thaton and 1.89 inches in Kyonepyaw.
BAY INFERENCE: Monsoon is strong over the Andaman Sea and Bay of Bengal.
SPECIAL FEACTURES: According to the observations at (13:30) hrs MST today, the tropical Storm “Prapiroon” reached over Vietnam and near Border of China. It is likely continuous to move Northwestwards and weaken gradually into a Land Storm.
FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 24th July 2024: Rain or thundershowers will be isolated in Lower Sagaing Region and Kayah State, scattered in Mandalay, Magway Regions and Northern Shan State and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with likelihood of isolated heavyfalls in Bago, Yangon, Ayeyarwady, Taninthayi Regions and Rakhine, Kayin, Mon States. Degree of certainty is 100%.
THE CONDITION OF CUMULONIMBUS CLOUD: The Cumulonimbus clouds are developing in Yangon, Ayeyarwady, Taninthayi Regions.
STATE OF THE SEA: Occasional squalls with rough seas will be experienced in Deltaic, off and along Rakhine Coasts. Surface wind speed in squalls may reach 40 mph. Wave height will be about 10-13 feet in Deltaic, off and along Rakhine Coasts. Squalls with rough seas are likely at times in Gulf of Mottama, off and along Mon-Taninthayi Coasts. Surface wind speed in squalls may reach 35 mph. Wave height will be about 8-10 feet in Gulf of Mottama, off and along Mon-Taninthayi Coasts.
OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Likelihood of increase of rain in Upper Sagaing, Bago, Yangon, Ayeyarwady, Taninthayi Regions and Kachin, Shan, Rakhine, Kayin, Mon States.
