23-12-2024: According to the observations at (17:30) hrs M.S.T today, the Well Marked Low Pressure Area over Southwest Bay of Bengal and adjoining Westcentral Bay(off South Andhra Pradesh and North Tamil Nadu Coasts) still persists. It is likely to move West-Southwestwards and reach Southwest Bay of Bengal(near North Tamil Nadu and South Andhra Pradesh Coasts, India) during 24-12-2024. Weather is a few cloud over the North Andaman Sea, North Bay and Eastern Bay of Bengal and partly cloudy to cloudy over the South Andaman Sea and elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal.

SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED FROM YESTERDAY MORNING 09:30 hrs M.S.T TO TODAY MORNING 09:30 hrs M.S.T During the past (24) hours, weather has been partly cloudy in Kayah State. Rain or thundershowers have been isolated in Lower Sagaing Region, fairly widespread in  Upper Sagaing, Mandalay, Bago, Taninthayi Regions and Northern Shan State and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with regionally heavyfalls in Rakhine State and isolated heavyfalls in Ayeyarwady, Taninthayi Regions. The noteworthy amount of rainfall recorded were 7.04 inches in Sittwe, 5.91 inches in Hainggyigyun, 4.57 inches in Dawei, 3.50 inches in Manaung, 3.46 inches in Kyaukphyu, 2.60 inches in Myitkyina, 2.17 inches in Minesat, 1.89 inches in Kungyangon, 1.61 inches in Ann and 1.60 inches in Mawlamyinegyun.

BAY INFERENCE: Monsoon is moderate to strong over the Andaman Sea and Bay of Bengal.

FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 5th July 2024: Rain or thundershowers will be scattered in Lower Sagain, Magway Regions and Kayah State, fairly widespread in Naypyitaw, Mandalay Region and Northern Shan, Chin States and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with likelihood of isolated heavyfalls in Upper Sagaing, Yangon, Ayeyarwady, Taninthayi Regions and Kachin, Rakhine States. Degree of certainty is 100%.

THE CONDITION OF CUMULONIMBUS CLOUD: The Cumulonimbus clouds are developing in Upper Sagaing, Yangon, Ayeyarwady, Taninthayi Regions and Kachin, (Northern and Eastern)Shan States.

STATE OF THE SEA: Squalls with moderate to rough seas are likely at times in Deltaic, off and along Rakhine Coast. Surface wind speed in squalls may reach 30-35 mph. Wave height will be about 7-9 feet in Deltaic, off and along Rakhine Coast. Sea will be moderate elsewhere in Myanmar waters. Wave height will be about 5-7 feet in Gulf of Mottama, off and along Mon-Taninthayi Coasts.

OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS:  Moderate to strong monsoon.
