23-12-2024: According to the observations at (17:30) hrs M.S.T today, the Well Marked Low Pressure Area over Southwest Bay of Bengal and adjoining Westcentral Bay(off South Andhra Pradesh and North Tamil Nadu Coasts) still persists. It is likely to move West-Southwestwards and reach Southwest Bay of Bengal(near North Tamil Nadu and South Andhra Pradesh Coasts, India) during 24-12-2024. Weather is a few cloud over the North Andaman Sea, North Bay and Eastern Bay of Bengal and partly cloudy to cloudy over the South Andaman Sea and elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal.

SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED FROM YESTERDAY MORNING 09:30 hrs M.S.T TO TODAY MORNING 09:30 hrs M.S.T During the past (24) hours, rain or thundershowers have been isolated in Lower Sagaing, Magway Regions and Kayah State, scattered in  Taninthayi Region and Northern Shan State, fairly widespread in Mandalay Region and (Southern and Eastern) Shan State and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with regionally heavyfalls in Rakhine State and isolated heavyfalls in Ayeyarwady Region. The noteworthy amount of rainfall recorded were 6.50 inches in Hainggyigyun, 6.34 inches in Manaung, 4.57 inches in Sittwe, 2.83 inches in Homalin, 2.56 inches in Mawlamyinegyun, 2.32 inches in Labutta, 2.28 inches each in Hlegu and Theinzayet, 2.25 inches in Kyaukphyu and 2.09 inches each in Gwa and Yangon(Botahtaung).

BAY INFERENCE: Monsoon is moderate over the Andaman Sea and South Bay and strong elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal.

FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 4th July 2024: Rain or thundershowers will be isolated in Lower Sagaing, Magway Regions and Kayah State, scattered in Mandalay Region and Northern Shan State, fairly widespread in (Southern and Eastern)Shan State and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with likelihood of isolated heavyfalls in Upper Sagaing, Yangon, Ayayarwady, Taninthayi Regions and Kachin, Rakhine, Mon States. Degree of certainty is 100%.

THE CONDITION OF CUMULONIMBUS CLOUD: The Cumulonimbus clouds are developing in Upper Sagaing, Yangon, Ayayarwady, Taninthayi Regions and Rakhine, Kayin, Mon States.

STATE OF THE SEA: Squalls with rough seas are likely at times in Deltaic, off and along Rakhine Coasts. Surface wind speed in squalls may reach 35 mph. Wave height will be about 8-10 feet in Deltaic, off and along Rakhine Coasts. Sea will be moderate elsewhere in Myanmar waters. Wave height will be about 5-7 feet in Gulf of Mottama, off and along Mon-Taninthayi Coasts.

OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS:  Increase of rain in Upper Sagaing, Yangon, Ayayarwady, Taninthayi Regions and Kachin, Rakhine, Kayin, Mon States.
