23-12-2024: According to the observations at (17:30) hrs M.S.T today, the Well Marked Low Pressure Area over Southwest Bay of Bengal and adjoining Westcentral Bay(off South Andhra Pradesh and North Tamil Nadu Coasts) still persists. It is likely to move West-Southwestwards and reach Southwest Bay of Bengal(near North Tamil Nadu and South Andhra Pradesh Coasts, India) during 24-12-2024. Weather is a few cloud over the North Andaman Sea, North Bay and Eastern Bay of Bengal and partly cloudy to cloudy over the South Andaman Sea and elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal.

SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED FROM YESTERDAY MORNING 09:30 hrs M.S.T TO TODAY MORNING 09:30 hrs M.S.T During the past (24) hours, rain or thundershowers have been isolated in Lower Sagaing, Magway Regions and Kayah State, scattered in Mandalay Region and Northern Shan State, fairly widespread in Naypyitaw, (Southern and Eastern)Shan State and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with regionally heavyfalls in Mon State and isolated heavyfalls in Upper Sagaing, Ayeyarwady Regions and Kayin State. The noteworthy amount of rainfall recorded were 10.44 inches in Hkamti, 3.82 inches in Mudon, 3.78 inches in Mawlamyine, 3.74 inches in Theinzayet, 3.30 inches in Kya-In-Seikkyi, 3.23 inches in Labutta, 2.64 inches in Kawkareik, 2.48 inches in Kyeikmayaw, 2.40 inches in Homalin and 2.25 inches in Thaton.

BAY INFERENCE: Monsoon is moderate over the Andaman Sea and South Bay and strong elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal.

FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 02nd July 2024: Rain or thundershowers will be scattered in Lower Sagaing, Mandalay, Magway Regions and Kayah State, fairly widespread in Naypyitaw, Shan State and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with likelihood of isolated heavyfalls in Upper Sagaing Region and Kachin, Rakhine, Mon States. Degree of certainty is 100%.

THE CONDITION OF CUMULONIMBUS CLOUD: The Cumulonimbus clouds are developing in Sagaing, Mandalay, Magway, Taninthayi Regions and Kachin, Northern Shan, Chin, Rakhine, Kayin, Mon States.

STATE OF THE SEA: Squalls with rough seas are likely at times in Deltaic, off and along Rakhine Coasts. Surface wind speed in squalls may reach 35-40 mph. Wave height will be about 9-11 feet in Deltaic, off and along Rakhine Coasts. Sea will be moderate elsewhere in Myanmar waters. Wave height will be about 5-7 feet in Gulf of Mottama, off and along Mon-Taninthayi Coasts.

OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS:  Continuation of increase of rain in Upper Sagaing Region and Kachin, Chin, Rakhine States.
