24-12-2024: According to the observations at (05:30) hrs M.S.T today, the Well Marked Low Pressure Area over Southwest Bay of Bengal and adjoining Westcentral Bay(off South Andhra Pradesh and North Tamil Nadu Coasts) still persists. It is likely to move West-Southwestwards and reach Southwest Bay of Bengal(near North Tamil Nadu and South Andhra Pradesh Coasts, India) during next 24 hours. Weather is a few cloud over the North Bay and partly cloudy to cloudy over the Andaman Sea and elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal.

SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED FROM YESTERDAY MORNING 09:30 hrs M.S.T TO TODAY MORNING 09:30 hrs M.S.T During the past (24) hours, weather has been partly cloudy in Lower Sagaing Region and Kayah State. Rain or thundershowers have been isolated in Naypyitaw, Mandalay, Magway Region and Eastern Shan State, scattered in Bago Region and (Northern and Southern) Shan State, fairly widespread in Upper Sagaing Region and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with regionally heavyfalls in Ayeyarwady, Taninthayi Regions and Mon State and isolated heavyfalls in Yangon Region. The noteworthy amount of rainfall recorded were 4.29 inches in Kyeikkhame, 4.01 inches in Dawei, 3.86 inches in Hainggyigyun, 3.50 inches in Bogale, 3.23 inches in Yangon (Mayangone), 3.15 inches in Paung, 3.03 inches in Myeik, 2.91 inches each in Thaton and Mawlamyine, 2.80 inches in Chaungsone and 2.24 inches each in Phyarpon and Shan-Ywar-Thit.

BAY INFERENCE: Monsoon is strong to vigorous over the Andaman Sea and South Bay and moderate elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal.

FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 24th June 2024: Rain or thundershowers will be isolated in Lower Sagaing, Magway Regions and Kayah States, scattered in Naypyitaw, Mandalay Region and Northern Shan State, fairly widespread in Bago Region and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with likelihood of isolated heavyfalls in Yangon, Ayeyarwady, Taninthayi Regions and Kachin, Rakhine, Mon States. Degree of certainty is 100%.

THE CONDITION OF CUMULONIMBUS CLOUD: The Cumulonimbus clouds are developing Upper Sagaing, Mandalay, Yangon, Ayeyarwady, Taninthayi Regions and Kachin, Shan, Chin States.

STATE OF THE SEA: Squalls with rough seas are likely at times in Deltaic, Gulf of Mottama, off and along Mon-Taninthayi Coasts. Surface wind speed in squalls may reach 35 - 40 mph. Wave height will be about 9 - 11 feet in Deltaic, Gulf of Mottama, off and along Mon-Taninthayi Coasts. Sea will be moderate elsewhere in Myanmar waters. Wave height will be about 6 - 8 feet in off and along Rakhine Coast.

OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS:  Continuations of increase of rain in Taninthayi Region and Kayin, Mon States.
