24-12-2024: According to the observations at (17:30) hrs M.S.T today, the Well Marked Low Pressure Area over Southwest Bay of Bengal(off South Andhra Pradesh-North Tamil Nadu Coasts, India) still persists. It is likely to move West-Southwestwards and weaken gradually into a Low Pressure Area during next 24 hours. Weather is a few cloud over the North Andaman Sea and North Bay of Bengal and partly cloudy to cloudy over the South Andaman Sea and elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal.

SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED FROM YESTERDAY MORNING 09:30 hrs M.S.T TO TODAY MORNING 09:30 hrs M.S.T During the past (24) hours, weather has been partly cloudy in Lower Sagaing Region and Chin, Kayah States. Rain or thundershowers have been isolated in Mandalay, Magway Regions and Southern Shan State, scattered in Naypyitaw, Upper Sagaing Region and Northern Shan State, fairly widespread in Bago, Taninthayi Regions and Eastern Shan State and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with isolated heavyfalls in Ayeyarwady Region and Kachin, Mon States. The noteworthy amount of rainfall recorded were 3.74 inches in Shwegu, 3.43 inches in Belin, 3.20 inches in Kangyidaunt, 2.10 inches in Kyaiklat, 1.73 inches in Myitkyina, 1.65 inches each in Gwa and Thaton, 1.62 inches each in Katha and Nyaunglaybin, 1.42 inches in Khayan, 1.38 inches in Mogoke and 1.34 inches in Tharrawady.

 

BAY INFERENCE: Monsoon is moderate over the Andaman Sea and Bay of Bengal.

 

FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 18thJune 2024: Rain or thundershowers will be isolated in Lower Sagaing, Mandalay, Magway Regions and Kayah State, scattered in Naypyitaw, (Northern and Southern) Shan, Chin States, fairly widespread in Upper Sagaing, Bago, Taninthayi Regions and Eastern Shan State and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with likelihood of isolated heavyfalls in Upper Sagaing Region and Kachin, Mon States. Degree of certainty is 100%.

 

THE CONDITION OF CUMULONIMBUS CLOUD: The Cumulonimbus clouds are developing in Ayeyarwady, Taninthayi Regions and Kachin, Mon States.

 

STATE OF THE SEA: Sea will be moderate in Myanmar Waters. Wave height will be about 6-8 feet in off and along Myanmar Coasts.

OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Increase of rain in Upper Sagaing Region and Kachin, Kayin, Mon States.
