SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED FROM YESTERDAY MORNING 09:30 hrs M.S.T TO TODAY MORNING 09:30 hrs M.S.T During the past (24) hours, weather has been partly cloudy in Eastern Shan and Kayah States. Rain or thundershowers have been scattered in Lower Sagaing, Taninthayi Regions and Chin State, fairly widespread in Magway Region and Kachin State and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with regionally heavyfalls in Rakhine State and isolated heavyfalls in Bago Region and Kachin State. The noteworthy amount of rainfall recorded were 8.86 inches in Kyaukpyu, 3.43 inches in Myitkyina, 3.38 inches each in Sittwe and Thandwe, 3.11 inches in Shwekyin, 2.83 inches in Madauk, 2.60 inches in Manaung, 2.36 inches in Ann, 2.13 inches in Zalun and 2.06 inches in Shan-Ywar-Thit.
BAY INFERENCE: Monsoon is moderate over the Andaman Sea and South Bay of Bengal and moderate to strong elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal.
FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 15thJune 2024: Rain or thundershowers will be scattered in Lower Sagaing, Magway Regions and Eastern Shan, Chin, Kayah States, fairly widespread in Naypyitaw, Mandalay Region and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with likelihood of regionally heavyfalls in Rakhine State and isolated heavyfalls in Bago Region and Kachin, Mon States. Degree of certainty is 100%.
THE CONDITION OF CUMULONIMBUS CLOUD: The Cumulonimbus clouds are developing in Upper Sagaing, Bago, Yangon, Ayeyarwady Regions and Kachin, Rakhine, Kayin, Mon States.
STATE OF THE SEA: Squalls with rough seas are likely at times in Deltaic, off and along Rakhine Coasts. Surface wind speed in squall may reach 35-40 mph. Wave height will be about 8-10 feet in Deltaic, off and along Rakhine Coasts. Sea will be moderate elsewhere in Myanmar waters. Wave height will be about 6-8 feet in Gulf of Mottama, off and along Mon-Taninthayi Coasts.
OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Increase of rain in Upper Sagaing Region and Kachin, Shan, Mon States.
