24-12-2024: According to the observations at (17:30) hrs M.S.T today, the Well Marked Low Pressure Area over Southwest Bay of Bengal(off South Andhra Pradesh-North Tamil Nadu Coasts, India) still persists. It is likely to move West-Southwestwards and weaken gradually into a Low Pressure Area during next 24 hours. Weather is a few cloud over the North Andaman Sea and North Bay of Bengal and partly cloudy to cloudy over the South Andaman Sea and elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal.

SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED FROM YESTERDAY MORNING 09:30 hrs M.S.T TO TODAY MORNING 09:30 hrs M.S.T During the past (24) hours, rain or thundershowers have been scattered in Lower Sagaing, Mandalay Regions and Eastern Shan, Kayah States, fairly widespread in Magway Region and Southern Shan, Kayin States and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with regionally heavyfalls in Yangon Region and isolated heavyfalls in Rakhine State. The noteworthy amount of rainfall recorded were 4.38 inches in Yangon(Mingaladon), 3.43 inches in Manaung, 3.23 inches in Yangon(Mayangone), 2.95 inches in Taungkok, 2.83 inches in Ngathaichaung, 2.52 inches in Thandwe, 2.33 inches in Shwekyin, 2.20 inches in Madauk, 1.97 inches in Theinzayet and 1.89 inches in Kyonpyaw.

BAY INFERENCE: Monsoon is moderate to strong over the Andaman Sea and South Bay of Bengal and strong elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal.

FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 14thJune 2024: Rain or thundershowers will be scattered in Lower Sagaing, Magway Regions and Eastern Shan, Kayah States, fairly widespread in Mandalay Region and Chin State and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with likelihood of isolated heavyfalls in Upper Sagaing Region and Rakhine, Mon States. Degree of certainty is 100%.

THE CONDITION OF CUMULONIMBUS CLOUD: The Cumulonimbus clouds are developing in Upper Sagaing Region and Rakhine, Mon States.

STATE OF THE SEA: Occasionally squalls with rough seas will be experienced in Deltaic, off and along Rakhine Coasts. Surface wind speed in squall may reach 40 mph. Wave height will be about 9-12 feet in Deltaic, off and along Rakhine Coasts. Squalls with moderate to rough seas are likely at times in Gulf of Mottama, off and along Mon-Taninthayi Coasts. Surface wind speed in squalls may reach 30-35 mph. Wave height will be about 7-9 feet in in Gulf of Mottama, off and along Mon-Taninthayi Coasts.

OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Moderate monsoon.
