24-12-2024: According to the observations at (17:30) hrs M.S.T today, the Well Marked Low Pressure Area over Southwest Bay of Bengal(off South Andhra Pradesh-North Tamil Nadu Coasts, India) still persists. It is likely to move West-Southwestwards and weaken gradually into a Low Pressure Area during next 24 hours. Weather is a few cloud over the North Andaman Sea and North Bay of Bengal and partly cloudy to cloudy over the South Andaman Sea and elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal.

SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED FROM YESTERDAY MORNING 09:30 hrs M.S.T TO TODAY MORNING 09:30 hrs M.S.T During the past (24) hours, rain or thundershowers have been isolated in Naypyitaw, Lower Sagaing, Magway Regions and Chin, Kayah States, scattered in Upper Sagaing, Mandalay Regions and Northern Shan State, fairly widespread in Yangon Region and Kachin State and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with regionally heavyfalls in Ayeyarwady Region and Rakhine State and isolated heavyfalls in Taninthayi Region and Mon State. The noteworthy amount of rainfall recorded were 8.66 inches in Gwa, 5.12 inches in Dawei, 4.56 inches in Thabaung, 4.13 inches in Ye, 3.78 inches in Manaung, 3.15 inches in Lemyethna, 2.40 inches in Ngathaichaung, 2.24 inches in Kyeikkhame, 2.20 inches in Kyeikmayaw, 2.12 inches in Kawthaung and 2.01 inches in Einme.

BAY INFERENCE: Monsoon is strong to vigorous over the Andaman Sea and Bay of Bengal.

FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 12thJune 2024: Rain or thundershowers will be scattered in Naypyitaw, Lower Sagaing, Magway Regions and Chin, Kayah States, fairly widespread in Upper Sagaing, Mandalay Regions and Northern Shan State and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with likelihood of regionally heavyfalls in Rakhine State and isolated heavyfalls in Taninthayi Region and Kayin, Mon States. Degree of certainty is 100%.

THE CONDITION OF CUMULONIMBUS CLOUD: The Cumulonimbus clouds are developing in Sagaing, Mandalay, Taninthayi Regions and Kachin, Shan, Rakhine States.

STATE OF THE SEA: Occasionally squalls with rough seas will be experienced in off and along Myanmar Coasts. Surface wind speed in squalls may reach 40 m.p.h. Wave height will be about 9-12 feet in off and along Myanmar Coasts.

OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Increase of rain in Kachin and Rakhine States.
